If you are looking at the mini ipod then it may also be worth a look at the iriver H10 (

my ipod mini is fine,itunes can be a pain in the rear,i've had a few problems with it ,but could be just operator error.

could do with new headphones,as they don't fit me very well and one of them buzzes from time to time.

if anyone can recomend some decent,descreet,in ear headphones i'd be grateful,especially if the have one of them holder/carry case thingys,saves untangling the things every time i get it out of my bag :thumbdwn:

I found the Sony in-ear phones excellent. Mike are superceded now, but I think they're superceded by the MDR-ED21LP. Highly recommended.

Reason is i'm looking at buying the mini ipod and just want to know if the standard headphones are any good or infact if the overall sound quality is upto the job.

I've just got my 60gb ipod iphoto today from the states! It rocks!

My new 20gb 4g iPod is winging its way to me as I write this...

Anyway, get a good headphone amp and some decent headphones and you'll be laughing... Oh, record your MP3's at 190kbps or above... Any less and they do start to sound a bit crap.

bugger... looks like ive "misplaced" my beatman flash mp3 player and sony earphones.. looking at a creative zen mini.. its more or less same price as ipod mini but with a extra gb storage + a radio :) oh... and you dont need software to put music on it :D

i have a glow in the dark iskin,they should come with the ipod,invaluable,forever dropping mine,did that "catch it on my foot" thing with it when i dropped it once,ended volleying it across the sitting room,still working fine,thank god !

got my new headphones this morning,10x better than the crap ipod ones.

oh and if anyone wants to increase the cvolume of yer ipod

Well... almost exactly 1 week on after buying meself a zen micro... and its died :eek: the microdrive has gone belly up.. you get a slight buzzing when ya put the battery in, but other than that it wont boot... tried formatting, chkdsk.. nothing.. oh well back to the shop for replacement :rolleyes:
