Rev at Tickover on Diesel 1.9

Featured Replies

Just a question what revs do you get on your diesel at tickover , mine seems to be running at 900 . Thought it was lower than this figre

That's about the same as mine, but it does feel a bit too high.......

i think mine is around 900 on the 110TDi

Yup should be 900rpm

I've got the PD105 and seems to differ between 800-900rpm, think its dependant on engine temperature though?

mines about 850-900 i think, though sometimes after a drive seems to settle at 1100-1200 instead, even with warm engine.....

That seems a little high to me :eek:

I bet it runs away in a 30 limit, in top gear :D

Actually, its fine when driving, just when engaging neutral she will sometimes tick over high... anyone any ideas??

That sounds like the coolant temp sensor - mine did this. Does it also rev a bit when started from warm like you had you foot on the accelarator a bit?

There is a new version that is green, easy enough to change yourself but you'll spill a bit of coolant. Bit less than £30 from the dealer for the sensor and and O ring.

850 to 900ish, on a hot engine; slightly higher when cold.

yeah she does rev a bit from warm as well. i need to do the coolant sensor anyway, gauge drops to 0 from 90 and back in couple seconds.
