On my 2004 vRS the red coolant lights flashes from turning engine on - but not all the time. If I turn the engine off then back on again it goes away.

The handbook says its to do with coolant level being too low but I've checked this.

Its been doing this for about the last 8 weeks, it had a service 6 weeks ago but the useless garage (All Electrics in Halesowen - don't use them!!) says there was nothing wrong.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Didn't think it was anything to worry about.

I'll have a go at scraping the sensor

In case anyone cares - scrapped the sensor a tew weeks ago and its been find since.
