Fabia vRS problems

Featured Replies

I've noticed a couple of small problems with the Fabia after a few months.

The first problem is a light knock or dull click on the clutch pedal on the up stroke. It doesn't happen all the time, but it does sound bad when it does.

It's definately the clutch pedal and not an engine bay problem.

The second problem is a clunk from all four brakes when you reverse and then brake. They will also clunk again on the first stop when you go forwards again. This is almost certainly the brake pads moving in their carrier, unless all four calipers are loose

I would be interested to know if anyone else has any problems like these before I venture to the dealers.

Rich, I had a similar problem with my Octavia's clutch pedal. Eventually it started sticking near the floor when the temperature was below freezing. It is a known problem with the Octavia and the clutch master cylinder has been modified to cure it. Mine was replaced under warranty. ETKA lists 2 clutch master cylinders for the Octavia and 2 for the Fabia. One is common to both cars but I don't know if it is the modified one, nor do I recall other Fabia owners reporting similar clutch problems.

cant say I've had anything like that. The brakes do make a weird noise when it's moved for the first time if left over night, but I think I've read somewhere that it's the ABS testing it's self? or maybe I was dreaming that! lol

If in doubt about anything and your bothered by it then take it to the dealer, it's not like it will cost you anything

this reversing noise is slowly getting louder on my car and goes on for longer all i need to do to set it off is apply the foot brake while reversing at any time now, it used to be just starting out now its all the time when reversing, getting tempted never to use brakes in reverse soon, so bye bye little kitties

or is this some sort of reversing alarm they put on the vRS

The ABS self test is a clonking noise from the front of the car - quite disconcerting when you've just picked it up from the dealer ;)

As others have said, if it's under warranty, then get the dealer to sort it :D

Chris

I would have thought the click on the up stroke of the clutch would be something like a incorrectly adjusted switch or mabe something as simple as an ill fitting lower dash trim.

The noisy brakes in reverse that some people have mentioned is a long term bugbear of VAG cars and allways has been, mine only does it after it has rained mind you.

But the car will be under warranty as its a Fabia vRS so any concerns take it back to your dealer.
