Unbelievable service from the VW/Skoda garage in Rouen, they bent over backwards to help us by talking to Skoda Assist arranging a hire car, organising taxis (to pick up hire car) and just generally nice people to deal with, if a little difficult to comunicate with!

If you have a modified car and have a warranty issue, get your **** over there, cant recomend them highly enough

PS. They even pointed out a minor problem with an exhaust mount that could cause issue in future (the exhaust is a Milltek!) and to take it easy in the first few hundred miles, especially as the car has REVO software!!!!

Jammy bathplug:thumbup:

Nicely done, glad to hear she's back to full health.

This taking it easy business, does that include a track session at Silverstone? :)

So it's another case of the UK getting F'd in the A, if the french dealers are that helpful.

And what did they find, Steve?

And what did they find, Steve?

One fooked gearbox I guess!

They replaced the complete box from what I can make out, they showed me my old one in a cage ready to go back to VW (got a pic of it somewhere being the sad old git that I am :o)

no offence steve but this is terrible.

I'm scratching my head with that comment matey!

One fooked gearbox I guess!

The correct technical phrase is Rouened

I'll get me coat.

Glad you got it sorted (soonish) :)

because you shouldn't have had it fixed FOC, obviously its a brucie that you did but it never should have happened. you up the power by nearly 50% then the gearbox blows up? linked? just maybe!

Maybe, but my money is on the Lummox theory ;) :P .....................

Could well be a back bearing issue. The new six spped gearboxes are crap compared to the old ones. A roller bearing has replaced the old taper bearing at the end of the first motion shaft. The bearing breaks down, gets noisy and ends up spitting out of the end of the gearbox. Done at least half a dozen in the last few months. VW repair just about all boxes, pretty sure Skoda are the same. Casings etc can all be replaced.
