Octy vRS - Loss of power after gear shift

Featured Replies

Strange one this...pulled out of a junction today where as you pull out to the right, the road then immediately goes to the left. Had my foot hard down in 1st gear and took it to about 6000rpm. When I changed to 2nd and planted my foot, there was nothing...no power at all until I lifted my foot and then reapplied it. The car has ESP which probably means nothing, but maybe worth mentioning.

Any help much appreciated

Probably one of the traction control systems stopping you from wheelspinning by cutting the power.

Progressive application of the throttle is the best way to get it to do what you want...

Rob.

Or just turn off the traction control ;)

Chris

turn off the traction control
 :iagree: :trampolin

It's the (quite capable of launching you into the windscreen) traction control.

Complete PITA when you forget to switch it off :drive:

Should also flash a light at you on the dash - but then again you probably weren't focused on the dash at that point ;):D

i've had the same happen to me in 1st pulling onto a dual carrigeway, the car just powered out and left me bricking it in the oncoming traffic, a couple of seconds later everything goes back to normal and i'm away.

if i ever need to make good fast progress off the line i turn the ASR off now.
