New Renault Megane - Yawn!

Featured Replies

Not as keen quite like the current one.

Its just a scaled down Laguna. How dull.

THATS a new Megane?

Looks like a cross between the Clio and the new Laguna with a hint of their Vel Satis.

Looks rather inbred but it's not ugly. It has the side profile of a Leon IMO

Wow that is a minger!! :thumbdwn:

I have to admit I wasn't keen on the current model at launch but it has grown on me and I'd have one of the sport ones tomorrow if I could get SWMBO to agree..

They didn't get the bloke from Porche to do it did they............

No, otherwise it would look just like the current model..:D

Can they keep the current model as the Megane Campus, just like they did with the Clio and sell it at a reduced price.

The new one is a minger, and that's coming from a skoda driver

Mazda3 popped into my mind when I saw it.

It's not horrible, just very bland as is the new laguna.

I saw a new C5 the other day. I was quite impressed.

it may not be as radical as the current model, but I dont think it looks to bad.

Must agree with you there, will wait to see it in the flesh before final verdict, but not to bad

Perhaps the 3 door will be a bit more aggressive?

just very bland as is the new laguna.

Though the Laguna coupe looks pretty special...

Rob.

Pretty bland. Not offensive, but not exactly exciting either. Reminds me of what happened between the Focus Mk1 and Mk2. Quite striking in Mk1 form, compared with the Escort, but was then replaced with something really quite boring looking.

Dullsville^4

God that's truely awfull.....

i wouldn't bang it.

To quote from the article - "It seems the new Megane is another victim of the homogenising touch of the newly design-cautious Renault-Nissan partnership" or to put it more succinctly - it's dull!

Anyone have any suggestions for the tune they should use for the advert for this car? Can't think that Groove Amada have anything in their back catalogue this time round.

They cant win can they..lol

Get busted for the Megane being different, then busted again for being dull.

The general public have become used to challenging car design now though, so anything that isn't challenging, or innovative is just boring.

I hated the current BMW 5 series when it first came out, but now it looks lush! Same goes for the old Megane.

They cant win can they..lol

It is possible to produce a car that is different and/or interesting, without necessarily producing one that is dull and/or ugly.

Ones that are initially preceived as different or sometimes ugly, are often "growers" (well unless styled by "Careless Angle" anyway  ), but dull ones are doomed to stay dull for evermore!

I am a petrolhead.I love cars.

The last 5 years though has produced an absolute load of boring, rubbish, same as each other cars.If I had seen that in a car park

1.I wouldn't know it was a Renault.

2.I wouldn't really have paid attention in the frst place its so boring.

What is wrong with car makers?!

(I'd have an A5 though:)) Edit...sans fairy lights

Much better than the current huge *** version.

Very mazda 3 though.

oh well at least it hasnt got a silly bum
