Factory Build Spec Change - on the vRS

Featured Replies

Hi all

First time poster......

Got a Black CR TDI vRS on order as my new company car, dealer called me yesterday to tell me that cruise control is now standard fit - just thought I'd share that with you all...

Plus they seem to have messed up my order and 'forgotten' to include the rain / light sensor (seems like this is a common issue having read some previous posts)!!!! I am not too fussed though as I was just trying to use up my options allowance.

Leaves me with £350 or so for dealer fit options - I am going to go for iPod connection, any other suggestions?

Bob

P.S. I can't wait for it to arrive - they are lending me a DSG vRS for a week, really looking forward to having a go (though would always prefer to stir my own gears in the long run!!!) :)

Welcome

If you have the iPod connector you'll lose the CD changer. Also some people have issues with the later iPods.

Rear blinds are nice as is the boot liner.

stu will the radio be a stream mp3? if so it be easy enough to make a mp3 lead.

Thanks for the responses....

Getting the rear blind factory fit (small kids you see!!), but the boot liner might be an idea.....

My ipod is not too new so hopefully no issues there....

I thought I'd lose the 6 CD player, which I am not too bothered about, but on the accessories website it says that use of the aux input will cease (again not too fussed) but reads like the 6 cd will still be available! Who knows - don't really mind as long as the iPod works!!!!

my guess is you'll loose the Aux in as the ipod lead will come through there instead

As Stu says, rear sunblinds are a great add on and come within the budget. There is a boot bag that I found handy on my previous octy's now residing in mr Hedges octy :)

You can get blinds that fit in the doors, those are the ones I was reffering too.

If the Headunit is a Stream MP3 then yes you'll lose the Aux in Socket.

Can anyone else confirm that cruise control is now standard on the VRS. Has anything else changed. Just ordered a CR TDI vRS in red, maxidot and autodimming rear view.

I took delivery of mine 2 weeks ago tomorrow I have the Ipod connector, rain / light sensing wipers, auto dimming mirror and full electric windows as standard. The Irish spec must be different?

Side sunblinds and a boot bag it is then.....

Spoke to dealer again today and he tells me that the current "free upgrade" (i.e. 18" wheels, full climate et al) is now just standard fit and not even billed as anything extra - had a quick look at the Skoda website under 'offers' and it's not mentioned anymore!

He re-confirmed that cruise is now standard fit.........

Along with the rest of your car. :P

the 'free 18" wheels' (etc) offer was supposed to run till the end of september... but indeed it is no longer listed here: Škoda - Our Cars - Offers

i've just paid for cruise control too...

anything else thats making me think i'm getting less of a bargain? :D :( doh!

you'll want the vrs dsg after playing with it..it's awesome fun :)

That still connects to the Blue Connector though Paul which is the one that the CD Changer uses and the one replaced by the iPod Kit. If the positions are vacant on the iPod Kit plug then you can simply swap the wires for the original Aux In into it.
