Day 1 over and it's still in one piece!

Featured Replies

OK so how do you wipe a 6" grin off your face? I took delivery of my Furby vRS this morning, and spent the day clocking up the first 200 miles in it.

Compared to the Fabia TDI I traded in this morning it's quieter, tauter (probably because it's new), more habitable and more FUN!

I have to admit to being a lurker on Briskoda for the past month: it was the next best thing to actually having the car. One of my posts was about the lack of manuals for the Fabia, so I've made a start on my own, with pics in my gallery.

Feel free to use them any way that is useful.

Off to get some kip now, before starting on the mods tomorrow.

Oh and I got 53.9 mpg on BP Ultimate from the first day's efforts.

Cheers,

Bryand

Nice colour

It's a pity you didn't have it in time for last Sunday, to show up all those boring black cars ;)

nout boring with black :P lol, though seeing it that pic does make me wonder if yellow would have been the better colour. But then could I live with the jokes and colour all the time

Wait until you hit around 7,500 miles. I've hit that recently, and I'd swear the car is feeling much faster now than when it had 0 miles on the clock.

Enjoy :D

Cupholder pic at last!!!! :o

Only 200 miles first day!

Nearly 17,000 miles and feeling fine in mine now :)

Looking Good........?

Still not sure about the wood effect trim??

Cheers

Tim

from the look of yer avatar piccy, have you got a huge sunroof and a 'special order' 36'' steering wheel in aluminium??

and a big puddle behind? :)

Ive hat just hit 1750 in 3 weeks and love it........ maybe Jabba.... but due to my high miles I'm worried about warranty / strain on the engine as I'm not sure if the turbo / internals are under more load after chipping only when you boot it and normal when cruz'ing???????

where did you get your dash trim kit from?

i would probably go for aluminium finish on a black furby vrs if i knew a good dealer with a decent product- does it not interfere with the workings of yer cupholder/tray assembly type thing with being slightly thicker than o/e?

anyone else got more piccys of dash kits?

I got mine from Butt's of Bawtry, who import stuff distributed by Milotec.

Milotec's catalogue shows several flavours of kits (wood and metal). If you ring up Butt's, ask for Liz (she works Tuesdays and Thursdays I think, and runs the Skoda bits side of the business) - very helpful.

The trim fits on top of the existing panels, so provided you line it up OK everything that is supposed to move, still does. It was very hot when I fitted mine, and this helped the process because when warmed the glue tends to allow a bit of sliding (for minor corrections). After 24 hours it sets solid.

Oh and the big puddle behind is Auckland harbour.
