Does the Stream Stereo have RCA Line in?

Featured Replies

Hi again everyone!

Does anyone know whether the Skoda Stream CD Stereo which I have in my MKII OCT vRS, has RCA type line-in on the back of the unit? You the red and white plug type...

I wanna fit the lead that connects my walkman phone, and have it coming through the ash tray...

Cheers,

Dom

No it doesnt, but if it has "Stream MP3" on the front its possible to rig up a connection.

Bogeys... :(

I think all Stream MP3's are ready to accept that connection, except that most before MY2007 do not have the armrest connector preinstalled. Oh well, you'd probably want it in the glovebox or the small knee level cubby anyway.

It's just a case of taking out the Stream and the bits and pieces needed to route the wire and connecting to the appropriate pins.

From what's been said on here before, the AUX input of the Stream doesn't work. (The Stream MP3 one does.) I'm sure someone will pop up and shoot me if that's not right.

If you have the Stream then there are devices out there that split off the CD changer input, but they have to be intelligent because the HU expects to talk to the changer.

Here's some I found. I've not tried them, just googled.

Connects2 Skoda Octavia auxiliary input adapter - CTVSKX003 from Connects2

In Dash PC - VW AUDI SKODA SEAT 98+ AUX adapter (direct digital interface)

These do not allow you to use your CD changer, if you have one.

If you have a CD changer, then you can split out the audio wires to an AUX input with a switch. So the HU thinks that the CD changer is playing, but in fact the music is coming from the iPod. I'm not sure if that would work too well - I would expect the changer to have to be playing a CD non-stop. But the details are here if you want them: VW Switchable Aux input

If you want to keep your CD changer, then I could find only the very expensive Denison Gateway 400, which is reviewed here:

The Dension site is here: Dension Audio Systems

It looks to me like their ICE>LINK product is discontinued. It's not clickable anyway.
