just to give you guys the scoop.....

Build quality, poor to extremely poor customer service from 4 out of the 5 dealers (the other 1 is excellent), general ability to find a fault and fix it first time, disappointingly high servicing costs. BMW are cheaper per mile on their 1 and 3 series if you pay as you go (as opposed to buying a service pack, which is even cheaper) than an Octy II even after negotiation.

I've posted on your other thread about an L&K.

I'm sorry to hear about this.

Hope you get another job quickly!

Must admit, the Superb with £5k off is very tempting. But I would end up with a swift kick in the testamonials from Mrs Stig if I was to change the Octi this side of Xmas :(

thanks all. i'm still about of course.

we all went out friday night for a goodbye bash. but before we went out we were racing a mini moto round the empty workshop :) it was great fun and was a nice end to the day. until i bashed my leg during a risky bit of cornering.

the night out was great. we had an indian meal and there was plenty of drink flowing. a few people got quite emotional towards the end of the night. the whole bunch from there are a great team, shame to see the end of it all.

i'll still be here, afterall my sister is now the proud owner of a corrida red 55 plate fabia 1.2htp :) goes well with my mums rally red 03 plate 1.8t 4x4! and i almost bought a corrida red vrs that came in too. but i had doubts about it and when i checked the history i found reference to them finding swarf in the gearbox, it needed 4 new tyres and clearly the tracking was way out. if i wasnt being made redunant it would have really tempted me. what a site our driveay would have been too!
