This morning i decided to fit my new superpro wishbone bushes .Ihad my old wishbones ,so i just fitted the new bushes -- easy peasy:thumbup:. Passenger side first-25 minutes and its done, drivers side ,just fitting the last bolt (the front bush) and **** ,-something doesnt feel right , the bolt goes straight through without coming into contact with the nut. Iremoved the wishbone only to find that (i assume) the captive nut INSIDE the box section of the front subframe has come adrift:eek::eek:!!I must admit i came very close to smashing every panel on the car , but after calming down and thinking about it i decided to do something drastic. Itook my angle grinder and cut a small slot in the subframe , took a nyloc nut and araldited it to a cable tie. Then i passed the nut up through the slot and tightened the bolt , now all i have to do is to get a small plate welded over the slot and hey presto i dont have to renew the whole front subframe as i thought i had to a few hours ago :o

nice m8

i hate it when something goes wrong at least its sorted now:thumbup:

hi m8 , actually they are quite easy to fit .Im no mechanic ,but the rear ones just push in and then you fit the steel sleeve, and the rear ones ,you just make up a long bolt with some large washers and wind the bush into the housing. They have made a great difference to the feel of the steering and now ive had the slot welded up ,my mind is at rest . go for it mate ,youll soon feel the difference:thumbup:

Easy in - even easier out. I found poly bushes to be the most hidious upgrade ever. Passenger side bush was replaced 3 Times as it kept popping out! I now run Audi TT rear front wishbone bushes. The ride quality is so much better and the handling has not suffered AT ALL
