Dog guard or wait for estate

Featured Replies

I'm liking the look of the new superb

Anyone know if:

- Would a reasonable sized dog be ok in the boot (think greyhound / lab)

- Is there a dog guard available

- The estate has actually officially been confirmed?

I have the Octy estate and have looked at the superb, I think my retriever and spaniel would fit without it being an estate. Having said that I am going to wait until 2010 to buy the estate.

You could also go to the dealer and your dog could accidentally jump in and then you could see if it closed ;)

Plenty of room for a dog with the boot cover removed obviously.

But it is probably quite a big jump for a dog to get in and out easily, which shouldn't be a problem if you've go an energetic young dog.

He'd need to be able to see out. He fits in the octy estate no problem but then likes to stand up so uses almost full height of boot area. Guess I'll just save up and get the estate, it's not like I've actually got to change.

That would then leave me with no reason not to buy it. Sensible head back on. Save up for 2nd hand estate in nice blue with cream leather. Whats the release date for the estate?

Thanks for the prompt reply. We've got a greyhound, so jumping might be an issue if there is a big lip. Other issue which others may be more interested in now is whether a guard is available to stop a 30 kg dog deciding he wants to come and play whilst in transit. Without the parcel shelf I kind of think the feel of luxury would be lost.

Dog gets taken to day boarding each morning - honestly it's as bad as having kids - so needs to be fit for purpose if you know what I mean.

I like greyhounds, we had a rescue one that was apparently fairly famous on the track, she was a really nice dog. If you got an estate Octavia now I'd say that going to a Superb Salatch/Hatloon (as it's now known...) might be a little awkward as you'd probably miss the praticality. I think the Superb estate is due out towards the middle of next year, I'd guess that if you plan to make a move in about 14 months time there should be the first batch of ex-demo Superb estates on the market for you to look at. Or speak to a dealer and get them to order in the Superb estate that you want let them run it for 3 months and then you buy it off them at ex-demo money, but you still get the exact car you want.

Thanks - think you are right. It's just all these pictures of more comfortable looking surroundings gets me thinking what if... Practicality is pretty important - have a bike rack on the roof quite a bit too, so estate it's got to be me thinks.

well if dell and rodney can get their grehound in the back of a 3 wheeled van im sure the superb estate will put their van in there as well hehe
