what are dealer prices like...

...for interior trim bits? can they get them ok as i need some parts that are almost impossible to find :( i'm guessing they would have to order them?

thanks mark.

I think it varies on which bits you want. I got a new release lever for the back seat which is 3 separate bits and came to the grand total of £2.46. I remember asking for a price on another bit and it was completely ridiculous but can't remember what it was now.

As said it depends which bits.

I've just had a few interior parts done under warranty on my Passat but it goes in on Monday for new front A pillar trims and a new roof lining which were damaged by a windscreen fitter.

They are footing the bill but the A pillar trims are only £25 each but the roof lining is £220 but I think with parts that are colour matched then the price is justified.

Get them to quote prices then look elsewhere, they should give you part numbers over the phone and possible lead times.

Some of the parts we had done were stock items but some took 2 days and the damaged trims were on back order from VW in Germany but still only took 10 days I think.

might just be easier to go to the breakers! i need them asap so 10 days is impractible!

It all depends on the colour of the bits you need. The parts I ordered were an unusual colour (latte) so were a special order.

I would imagine that any VRS trim items would be a well stocked part.

Call a dealer any see. Easy to say you need it quicker even if it's too expensive.

At least the new parts will be complete and undamaged.

Try cars dismantled by skospares.com for all your skospares, they are very good and do mail order.Specialist Skoda breakers in Poole, Dorset.

Seconded, great service but check new prices first, some parts are so cheap yopu might pay as much for s/hand. Your local Skud stealer will give you prices & availability

ok, i sent skospares an email, i will also check the dealers tomorrow!

I got some vRS door sill protectors from my local stealers, they had to order them in and I almost choked when they told me the price... £60+VAT for two bits of plastic and aluminium! They tried to sell me the rear ones as well and altogether it was going to come to over £100  so I just went for the front ones :thumbdwn:
