Hi guy`s what`s up?, i have a skoda felicia 1.6 MPI , i was draging some one got the the same car with the same engine we started the drag very good i was in the front with the 2nd gear we drawn with the 3rd gear i felt like 2.8cc car passing beside me i was shocked as the only diffrent between my car and his car is the back box of the exhust system as he is a sport box and i am aregular one.

1. Is that diffrent could lead to that or there something else worng?

2. Could any body help me i am thinging of changing the injection system with a better one could any body tell me the best parts to get and what else can help me to make the car better??

3. also i need some idea to modify my car without make a big changes.

plz i need this info very soon really it would help and thak you always

Maybe his engine isn't that standard? ISTR that the rallying "kit car" 1.6 MPI gives about 160bhp.

If you're prepared to spend out on a new injection setup, try talking to a local to you site sponsor, and web searching for Emerald or Megasquirt engine management.

the problem here in egypt it is hard to fing some one to make any changes or any thing like that so could any body give me online sites that can help me with that, and still waiting for ideas to help me with my car

thank you

If you buy from Emerald, they'll supply or give you a shopping list for any application / engine spec they've done before. Similarly but note it's basically shareware with Megasquirt.

Seriously, the first step with tuning a car is to work out where you want to go on power etc. It's much easier to give specific advice to someone who asks a specific question than to someone who says something like "what are the best bits"? In this case, as per #2, the Felicia/Polo 1.6l rally "kit car" engine is the most powerful road usable engine spec there is barring forced induction.

i would advise people against buying an emerald because they are so expensive, that said i've used them many times in the past and they are brilliant

megasquirt seems a viable option for diy tuning but bear in mind that you may need to get a seperate ecu to run the ignition because not all the megasquirt stuff does ignition

Are Emerald really that expensive? Bear in mind that an HKS or similar interceptor costs something like £900 unmapped, and Emerald will supply a base map for an application they've "done" before.

i paid about £750 for my emerald system iirc, and it doesn't come with a base map for a 1600 lump. whereas you can buy a megasquirt unit for about £150
