Ok, all been well I'm picking up my new vRS CR TDI in 2-3 weeks.

I added Maxidot, Rear Sensors & Cruise Control.

What things are a worthy addition that I can buy off ebay or off here? I know that an MFD2/3 are something worth looking into but a little too expensive at this point.

Even something as simple and cheap as cargo nets etc might be worth getting? Whats a common addition?

sunblinds, boot nets. all i can think of mate.

Before you go crazy buying stuff, check the side pockets in your new car. I got a net of some sort (not opened it yet to find out exactly what it is.) It's a wholly different spec car to yours though.

I'm seriously considering a dog-guard, and I can recommend the "dog-hammock" - although I only attach it at the back; our dogs are too heavy and active to trust it in hammock mode.

Boot liner and rear sunblinds as well as the net pack for my money.

I have the Skoda one which is good.

I have two nets, one big one that does the floor and a smaller one which can be used either behind the seats or at the hatch opening.

The waterproof bootliner on ebay is what I got from the dealer from new and I think it's brilliant for my boxer dog, Charlie. He slobbers a lot and tends to roll in water so it's kept my interior mint. Fairly easy to fit (although the sticky velcro bits for the rear slam panel are next to useless as they don't stick for long!) and well designed.

Dog guard looks quite good too. Got one just in case, but turns out I don't actually need it with Charlie; he never goes that far forward! Only pain is that I can't have that AND the false floor in as they use the same catch, which is why the upright bars aren't left in permanently. Great if you don't have the floor though as the top/grill clips in & out of the bars easily leaving them behind very inconspicuously.

Just under £25 RRP

Whoa, that's cool. I always wondered where to put the soggy umbrella after I get in.

For the moment I have a bottle holder behind the passenger headrest that sort of does the job, but it sometimes slips and lands on the floor.

Damn. Thanks for that. Our dog enjoys jumping back and forward over the rear seats, but I do have the variable boot floor. I've already taken out the load cover, because it greatly reduces the space the dogs have. Maybe I should see if they're happy with the boot floor lower, and annoy SWMBO with another piece of seldom used junk cluttering the place up. *sigh*

I've set my car up that the sides of the false boot have been taken out, and the top has been left in there alongside the struts for the dog guard. Can't really invisage needing the floor or the dogguard, but the uprights are in there now just in case. Also saves on having to store the large mdf-ish top of the false flooring. It raises slightly up towards the front but it's no big deal.

Also, my boy Charlie is very lazy at getting in (comes from the wifes Leon where it's quite a drop from the back lip into the boot so he's kinda jumping into a void), but he's got no problem with hopping in and out of this car with the small lip. Personally, I didn't want his legs or anything slipping down the gap either side of the false floor as it doesn't cover the ENTIRE floor so decided to leave it out. This way without the false cubby hole, the entire floor is fairly uniformly the same height.

Hope that helps?

Oh, and the waterproof liners front+top securing loops slip around the uprights of the dog guard, and the clips at the bottom fasten as well with it all in situ, so it's been very well designed and thought out.

That sentence may make more sense if one buys both items and fits them; you'll see what I mean!:P

have you thought about mudguards? wouldnt be without them off mine as it keeps most of the crud off the sides. Get the Skoda ones though as havent seen any ebay ones recommended (except for rally flaps but theyre an aquired taste to some)

by the way rear guards will fit on the VRS but will need to be put in a bucket of hot water to make them flexible.

enjoy the new car :)

change your boring, dull yellow interior lights to bright white xenons/ LEDs. Just received mine off ebay today and they look great.
