Well, as of last weekend, I'm the proud owner of a 51 plate Octavia Elegance TDi Estate.

I come here from 2 years of SEAT Leon Cupra ownership, which was great fun, but I'm also now a proud father of a 10 week old boy, and to be honest the Cupra didn't really cut the mustard any more from a cost or boot space point of view.

We test drove lots of cars when we decided to change, but the Octavia really couldn't be beaten on qualiy or value for money.

In the end I had to travel all the way from Huddersfield to Oxford to get the right deal, but it was worth it. I now have a cracking car in Blue Magic, with 14 months of Skoda warrany even though it's nearly 3 years old.

Oh, and I got 61mpg on the way to work this morning. The Cupra used to do 30...

I think it's fair to say I'm quite chuffed.

So anyway, SEATCupra.net was great whilst I was in their club, and from what I've seen of you guys so far, I'll have just as much fun here.

Well, I resisted getting the Leon chipped (dunno how really), and will probably resist getting the Octy done too for a while at least. The money saved will come in handy for the baby...
