Pollen filter?

Featured Replies

My RS is just over two years old with 25000 miles. I have serviced it from new myself every 6000 miles. I want to replace the pollen filter. I presume its under the windscreen scuttle panel on the passenger side?

Also I think I'll do the fuel filter too while I am at it. Anyone done both of these themselves? Its a TFSI. Any advice or things to watch out for?

Thanks in advance.

pollen filter is easy, get your head under the glove comparment and remove the spongy cover where the air vents come out and blow towards the floor, this is held in with two screws. once this is off you will see the pollen filter this time held with two philips screws, take this off and carefully take out the pollen filter and be warey of any debris that will fall out here too. make sure its all clean inside (a quick vac helps here) and then put in the new pollen filter and do the reversal to the above to get everything back into place. I wrote a tutorial sometime, didn't I?

I never saw the tutorial, but yes it's under the foam sheet under the glove box on an RHD car so probably in the same place on an LHD.

the cover pushes to one side and you just pull the old filter out, make sure nothing is stuck in there and then put the new one in.

Thanks Guys.

What about the fuel filter?

The only thing that confused me on the pollen filter was which way round it went in (having not concentrated when taking the old one out).

I just assumed the direction of flow was towards the cabin.

yes should be towards the cabin.
