Found a new cubby hole

Featured Replies

Im sure most will know but for those like me who didnt know about this. If you open the glove box, the bottom lifts up to give another storage compartment :)

Sorry if this is common knowledge

I dont own a Fabia, and know this! (My mate has one! haha!)

The real question is how long have you owned your fabia? If its been a few weeks im sure they will let you off!

Does it?! I had mine 3/4 months and didnt know lol

Had mine since April, but the glovebox is full of stuff, so cant say i've ever noticed either.

Just for a few months, and im still finding new stuff haha

If you have a/c its also a fridge, and theres a little one on the right below the steering wheel for cooling cans.

Haha, have you found the pocket / slot way underneath the steering wheel yet?

Yep, the handbook/service manual folder fits perfectly:thumbup:

I've found another one under the tailgate.

No mention of it in the manual, oddly enough.

Is it like Narnia?

As someone mentioned that storage area is for the service book pack.

Thats exactly what I keep there

I don't keep anything there because i forget it exists!

Evidently the previous owner had forgotten about it too, as they'd left various bits of paper and business cards in there.

I was told by the dealer when we bought the car, keep the owners manual in it along with cd's.

I checked mine, but it's got the Parrot Bluetooth kit box, and ipod controller/connecter in it.

Wow, I'm not convinced this IS common knowledge! I never knew about the existence of this extra space and I read the manual quite meticulously.

Strangely enough I've recently been annoyed by my requirement for increased glovebox space to keep things hidden away, and even thought about putting the service manual in a bag and leaving it in the boot, but now I don't have to! This car has so many secret hiding spots, you gotta love it.

Cheers manderson for the heads up!

Is it like Narnia?

Kinda.

Think 'Narnia x Tardis/Looking Glass'.

Not a Skoda question, but, why oh why did VAG make a storage place for the softish paperwork pack in the B5 Passat, do the same it seems with the Fabia, but when it came to designing the Polo 9N, they had a little think - and then supplied the Polo 9N without a slot to store this stuff AND changed the format of the paperwork pack to a sort of large and stiff ring binder thing that attempts to fill the glove box AND is too big to fit into the under seat storage place - what are they like!!

There is a tiny glove box thingy, with a lid, on the extreme right of the dash, which is too small for a can, but just holds the remote control for the head unit, a calculator, and a Swiss army knife.

There is a separate shelf under the steering wheel which just holds a demister pad for cleaning the inside of the windscreen.

And lastly, just in case anyone has missed it, is a storage box located under the front passenger seat.

Sorry for stating the obvious points above, but a new-to-Skoda owner may not know all these tricks!

Ive barely looked in my boot. So whats this one like then? :)

Oops! :o

On closer inspection, the other one "under the tailgate" is in fact what is commonly referred to (apparently) as the boot.

Who knew?

This discovery is **** all! I opened what can only be described as a door, and found myself inside the car! 3 years on - and I didnt know I could actually get in it. Amazing.

:o

Tell me about it.

I recommend reading up about the steering wheel gizmo (comes as standard!) and deccelerator pedal (optional extra) though, before you go daft... like I did. :o
