I'd like a remapped VRs, but need and have a 1.4 TDI.

In a previous post I recounted things I've tried. Filled to brim last week. Wet, dark driving to Manchester and home all week. This morning filled to brim with 900 miles done. Took 50.5 litres. This is 80mpg overall. I expect it to drop as temperatures drop and have fitted a sump heater (will report how it works when its had a good trial). Conclusion is that the best results have come from cleaning EGR and intercooler, fitting elephant's trunk and using Miller's Sports4 at double recommended (100ml to a full tank).

I have a VRS and seriously think there could be something wrong with it!!!.....mines in the reserve and is showing 50km left to go......i filled it with 50ltrs and a shot of millars and have so far only got 460km.....yep KM not miles out of it!!!......so you getting 900miles out of your 1.4 just makes me want to cry!!

I have the same problem i just can't seem to manage over 300 miles per tank,but i have come to the conclusion it is down to the way i drive;)

correct, its the way you drive it, plan ahead, let off the accelerator to slow down in advance and get into 5th/6th as soon as and try using block changes to go up as well as down.

i drive like a granny!!...thats why im even more suprised that i cant get many KM out of it!!....very rarely give it the loud pedal and change gear just before 2k and get striaght up to 5th when ever i can!!....maybe its due to the fact that im rarely on motorways!!!

I get 600km out of 50l, but then it's almost all stop and go driving. Did get 750km once when I drove for economy...

Finally, someone who drives like a true Briskodian!

its just a case of i know what its like to have a massive smash at stupid miles an hour ending up upside down in a river with the roof caved in!!!.....plus driving over here there are so many stupid drivers (most who havent passed a test) and you are just asking for trouble by driving like a loon on Irish roads!!

it SUCKS but is pretty quick i guess lol
