Finally in the Octy club!

Featured Replies

Yup, I've just trundled home in my new Mk1 vRS courtesy of a gentleman selling through these very pages. It's a lovely little beastie, extremely well cared for, and is a very different proposition to the cars I've owned in the past - a certain amount of recalibration of my driving style will be needed to avoid getting fingermarks on my collar :)

Just need to work out why the climate control sets off SWMBOs asthma and we're rocking :) Anyone know if a clean is likely to make a difference, and if so, the best way to go about it?

Piccies will follow as soon as I have the time :)

Nice to see a car stay within the forum.

Nice cars those Octy vRSs... look after it, and enjoy it!!!

Shall do, and already am - cheers! :)

It's taking a bit of getting used to, but I've been amazed by just how tractable it is around town at low revs. Throughout the slog to work this morning I realised that there was no need to climb above 2000rpm in typical city traffic, and that it'll sit quite happily in 5th at 30mph clocking up no more than 1100 revs. Since the first fill the predicted fuel range has actually gone up and stayed there :)

First country road blast tonight on the way to a meeting, so looking forward to that :)

Enjoy the car, and who was the previous owner on here????

Ta :)

The previous owner signed up to advertise the car here rather than being a long term member - the advert was this one. True to his word, he had the cambelt and waterpump sorted before the sale (which was a genuine oversight by the dealer responsible for servicing) and the rest of the car is in great condition with a solid history. I'm extremely chuffed with it, and glad that it's been well looked after :)

Best colour as well, but perhaps I could be biased....LOL
