Excellent RedLeon...Makes me wsh I spent more time looking at these things.

Colin, did you search Google or Briskoda? If there was a way to default / add both Google and Brisky to the same bar it would then rock, but I suspect thats a firefox and not a RedLeon plugin solution.

I think u might have googled that Colin!! :D As this one only uses the Briskoda forum search.. :D

I would love a way to add more than one search thingy too but I'm not brave eneough to modify the source yet! :D hehe

Also have a SCN one posted on SCN ;)

Could you create both the SCN and Briskoda searches on a seperate toolbar, ie have a "searches" toolbar?

ok you want to add more lil searchy boxes... do this...

load up

C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\default.p96\localstore.rdf

Search for : "search-container" (without the quotes)

then just add ",search-container" to the line...

mine line looks like this:

currentset="back-button,forward-button,reload-button,stop-button,home-button,search-container,search-container,search-container,search-container" />

I also moved the address bar up to the right of the menus by right clicking on a tool bar then customize then dragging and dropping...

mine looks like the following now (with 4 farnell search engines):

1841.attach

well that nearly works.. you just cant select what anything other than the search onthe first one :( dam me and my lack of testing..

Ahh.. i see! Genius!!!

i didnt know it could be customised on firefox, as one of my biggest grudges was the google search was only google.. when mostly i wanted google.co.uk

now ive found a "thingy" to allow me to search .co.uk

Thanks for pointing it out :)

I know this is a mighty old thread...... But i've made the Briskoda logo smaller if anybody wants to swap it out.....

Cheers

Dave.

Worked when i tried it a few minutes ago.

I use the firefox search engines all the time and for a variety of sites.... Google, Yahoo, Ebay, YouTube, Briskoda, Wikipedia. Torrents etc.... and think they're great as saves having to open the site first.

Cheers

Dave.

I did a search and found steam but was very disappointed when it was a silly kids game and not steam engines.

I've just noticed this program and installed it but it doesn't work for me. I have PM'd BlackFR asking about the difference between his file and the new .xml extensions of Firefox so am waiting to hear back.

Has anyone else had any problems with this as potentially it could be very handy?

Attached is a first hit in the xml style....

The icons doesn't work from my end but search seems to.

Right click the link below save file as and then just add it to your firefox/searchplugins directory:)

Clicky to download

I've got a double miss at this end Matt

Is it not showing in the list of search engines or failing when you try and use it?

It's not showing at all and I've noticed that the other xml files appear to have the search engine icon inside the xml code if that helps.

Weird!

I've tried it on 2 or 3 PC's and it show up fine in the list.

According to the spec you can inline the encoded version of the icon or you can link to the icon, im not sure why the linking isn't working:(

Has anyone else managed to get this working & if so with what version of Forefox (v3.5.6 is current), the exact location of the plugin and with what OS?

Does the Briskoda icon show up in your Search Engines list?

For info, I believe the correct location for the plugin to be:- C:\ Users\<username>\ AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\ Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx. default\".
