Fabia vRS Facelift

Featured Replies

Just been down the dealers to see if I could get a decent price on a vRS.

Nope, none of them can get close to drivethedeal.co.uk.

To be told that there is a facelift model out in september (

Is that a facelift model of the vRS?

drive the deal are the daddys none of the skoda dealers in glasgow or edinburgh could beat it. as for the facelift no pics yet for the Vrs as far as i know not alot will have changed apart from interior

Drivethedeal guy just told me, new front head lights, new rear lights, new bumper/grill.

yes vRS facelift.

Im a bit worried ordering from them as they cant guarantee a price....ie it could go up.

I ordered my Fabia vRS about four or five weeks ago, and will have to wait for another four at least because of the changeover from making the 'old shape' to making the 'new shape'. Mind you, I was charged 'old shape' price as I placed the order before the official changeover date. You can see piccies of the 'new shape' Fabia in Colin D's member gallery, but bear in mind that the bumpers and wheels will be the same as on the 'old shape' vRS...

As far as drivethedeal go, they're great if you can be ars*d / have the time to sell private, 'cos they won't do a trade-in. And you don't mind being the second owner of the car (which doesn't really matter.) You won't get a discount on a vRS at a dealer, 'cos they're in high demand so they can afford not to. Mind you, the dealer I'm getting mine from (Gorners in Warrington) did add a fair whack onto the trade-in allowance, so it's all swings and roundabouts...

BTW, I'll be GUTTED if yours turns up before mine!

Can they not guarantee the price for the current model or the facelift?

Hiya

I have been told the price increase from SKODA UK is to be confirmed as yet........Drivethedeal have quoted me an extra

Hiya

Can confirm from SKODA UK, look forward to the new dash clocks etc , sportier steering wheel all for

If you place an order before the official release of the facelight, surely you pay for (and acquire) the current model? Right?

I paid for old and will get new (AFAICS)! [see above]

That's worked out alright then!

I don't understand why Skoda are facelifting the vRS - it's only been out a year.

(Hang on, the Fabia has been out longer though.)

The only differences according the skoda for the VR/s are, updated dash plastics and rear lights.

Nothing else. Like everyone else says there's no point updating a car that has not even been out for a year yet. The VR/s seat trim, dials, bumpers, wheels will remain the same.

So I stand corrected. Would hardly call it a facelift (compared to what they've done to the Octavia) though.

Well it is a facelift.

The Octavia is a model change.

But as normal its all speculation as usual because not even Skoda provide hard evidence on what actually changing for the vRS. None of our salesmen know as yet, heck my vRS is the only one they have seen.

this is all starting to worry me a little... I just put my VR6 up for sale, hopefully got someone coming to look tonight, once thats gone I was going to go order a Fabia VRS from drive the deal.....

has anyone got a price for a "face-lift" Fab VRS from drive the deal?

whats this about the V5 have one owner on it already if thats the route you go down. i thought drive the deal just placed the order on your behalf with Skoda UK, not actually bought the car, then sell it on to you???

cheers

That's the way brokers and car supermarkets such as Jam Jar and Virgin Cars operate, IIRC. They place bulk orders, and so receive bulk discounts - more of a discount than YOU get, otherwise they wouldn't make a profit! I COULD BE WRONG about Drive The Deal of course, and I could be getting heading for a telling off if I've got it all wrong, but looking at their website, they supply a lot of fleets, and so it looks as though they just add the car you want to their fleet orders. It may well be that they DON'T register the car themselves, unlike the ones that'd be going to fleet operators, in which case you WILL be the first name on the V5... At the end of the day, I don't want to put you off buying a great little car, and selling privately WILL make you better off then trading-in whether you buy from a dealer or a broker - I just don't have the time! Whatever you end up doing, enjoy! :)

I think I may have got it all wrong about Drive The Deal 'selling the car on' to you - it's what Jam Jar and Virgin Cars do, though. Careful scrutiny of their website reveals how I THINK they make their profit. They get your deposit off you when you place the order. A certain amount of this is a straight 'fee', which is the difference between the bulk discount they get from the dealer, and the discount that they pass onto you. Also, they have the whole of your deposit sitting in their bank account for however many weeks it takes for the car to be delivered. They gain interest on this money over that period, which they keep. This might only be

cool, i thought from reading the drivethedeal site that they get some cash from the dealers (some sales commision) and i guess drivethedeal is just a couple of blokes with a little office, a website and a phone, so there over heads are low!

a bloke is definately coming to look at my VR6 tonight, so hopefully if that goes I`ll put my order in! I dont actually mind getting a pre-face-lift VRS, as it doesnt sound like you get much extra, just the new plastic on the interior, and new style lights... so might talk to some dealers and see if they can 'cut me a deal'

looking forward to saving some cash at the petrol station and have more torque for A-road overtaking!

Cheers, andy
