Urgent advice needed

Featured Replies

After having the belts changed yesterday about 20 mins ago I was driving along slowly when all of a sudden there was a loud pop then there was a load of black diesel smoke behind me the car does not want to accelerate

I have checked under the bonnet and can see a hose the size of a radiator one lying just below the bottom pulley, but its not a radiator one where does it go

The car stops and starts OK but jerks along could the gararge not have tightened up a hose properly???

Hi, by the the sound of it the intercooler pipe has come off, this is sometimes held in by a large type circlip, i would allso check to see if the seal on the end of the pipe is still there as well these do split and give a air/charge leak. This pipe is sometimes removed to do a cambelt change.

My advice is to take it back!

Would this make the car give off loads of black smoke

And make it drive as if there is a fuel blockage:confused:

Yes lots of black smoke if you lose the turbo pressure.

I will be doing that, but they will have to come and collect it, the gararge is 8 miles away

You need to be underneath the car to see where it goes, remove the undertray and you should see it. It sounds like they forgot to put the clip back in, so it popped off or it was not put back properly.

Has anyone got any pic of where its ment to go please

One end will go up to the charger IIRC and the other end will connect to the intercooler which looks like a mini radiator.

No Idea where the IC is on a MK II PD105, but as said I'd think you'd need to be under the car.

I think the A5s are still SMIC, but either way there's a turbo hose connector low down in the OSF corner.

Thats where it is, took it back first thing now sorted

Thanks to all:thumbup:

Spoke to the mechanic regarding the DMFs Seat has told them just to replace them with another type, as the originals where just a ball hair to big and they catch the bell housing:thumbup::)
