Hi all, I'm not entirely sure how many people modify the look of their cars. But I've just got a 99 GLXi Octavia in silver, and being young, I can't help wanting to do some subtle modifications to make it look a bit smarter.

I've been a member of car clubs in the past, and have come to know, there are a few places that many members go to get items. (Not Ebay!) Is there something similar for Octavia owners?

When I say mods, I mean replacing the black plastic splitter and spoiler on the front and rear bumpers, lowering by a few mm etc. Nothing extravagent.

Why is the dump valve at the front of the engine bay? I take it your dumping to atmosphere and not recirculating?

Lowering, delocking, changing grilles, fitting Golf "aero" wiper blades, and new wheels tend to be the most common cosmetic mods. There are a few body kits and changed lights (round 4-shot fronts, "Lexus" style rears) available, but they're not very popular here, due to the Ch@vvy appearance they have.

Yeah yeah, I know! I'm just a little too lazy to do it at the moment!!

I fitted a DV relocation kit - mainly because after fitting the TIP, the DV rattled against the strut brace, and also the engine cover wouldn't fit. I still ended up having to chop off the corner of the engine cover

It's a Bailey recirculating DV but relocated to the cold side of the intercooler. No real performance benefit for an engine with only about 200bhp But the DV now runs cold instead of being too hot to touch after a run. Can't hurt I guess!
