Central Locking Unit

Featured Replies

Hello everyone, have recently purchased a 1.3 '99 Felicia GLX 5 Door for my other half, have changed plugs, oil, filters etc, and it runs very well Have got a problem with the central locking, or rather the lack of it. I am trying to locate the control unit. I have tried using the search and all I can find is that it should be in the vacinity of the radio, (looked couldn't find). I also have a Laserline alarm which is factory fitted which is supposed to acitvate the locking. I have checked Fuse 16 and it is intact. Any help would be most appreciated as it is a pain having to unlock all the doors manually to throw the kids in. Cheers

Hi and welcome to Briskoda!

I once had problem with my central locking unit.

My girlfriend tried to open the door, at the same time I was unlocking another one.

I wasn't working thereafter, until I played a bit with the lock bits.

Can't remember exactly what I did, but something like jump in the car lock manually them all, try the key (by an open window) to lock/unlock, or the opposite way...

Hope you get what I tried to explain! ;)

Thanks for your reply Doodle, I think I have now tried every combination of locking, unlocking, alarming etc. The person I bought it from assured me it worked but must have recently stopped!!! The Haynes manual makes no mention of the control unit, but I am assuming there is one somewhere. I have looked at the VAGcat and got the following info from this page. VAGCAT Page. 1 is shown as Electronic Control Unit. 2 = Electronic control unit for central locking system. I have locted part 1, but still hunting for 2.

maybe i don't understand that diagram too well but i think 2 is the actuator in the door, below the lock mechanism - I've had trouble with my central locking but it's one of the rear mechanisms gets sticky and the fuse blows...
