It's almost standard...the only "mod" being a Weber carb, not a performance one, just a standard replacement. Other than that it's original, even the tyres are OE make/spec as S-S said!

Obviously theyre not going to blow it up, but theres a world of difference from one of their - heres a fun old Skoda to buy for tuppence and get sideways in, to one of their - this is how **** Skoda used to be and now they produce wonderful VW clones.......oh look we've just spun this old communist Skoda again and it doesnt even go fast!!!

Apparently, I read on another forum, they have been trying to get hold of a Lada Riva but Lada Club members have been refusing to let them borrow one.

Oh well, "crap old car" shoot out test drive it seems to be then. Not surprised Lada owners won't co-operate though after JC drove one with a paper bag over his head complaining it was crap and then tore it in half with two big cranes (although it was obviously pre-cut and filled with explosives). You should have put it in a bucket with a lid, not a rusty old transit. Especialy if it was the one you went to NI in!!!!!!

Yes but he also has a habit of forgetting what he said before......I had a Renault Alpine a year or so back and when the A610 came out Clarkson absolutely loved it and told everyone to buy one...on his last video he bought a fairly ropey one, declared it was crap and blew it up!!! (they only made 300 of them and only 20 something in RHD so its a rare car.....even rarer now!)

If anyone is ever in the Lancaster/Morecambe area bob into the Skoda garage on White Lund industrial estate and they've got a VERY tidy looking Rapid sat in the showroom... looks like its been sat in the showroom all its life! lol

:)I'm not allowed to say too much as I promised TG I wouldn't, [even though I'm dying too!] but I do know they were impressed with my car. It used to be pretty much perfect as I restored it 5 years ago, it's been used almost daily since then and there are are 1 or 2 rusty bits starting to show now.
