Seat Belt warning

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Do your Roomster's have a seat belt warning light? I thought ours did but just discovered if it did its no longer working?

You can unfasten your seatbelt when driving and there are no warning lights, chimes etc. Is this correct?

Cheers

Yes, all Roomster models have it as standard...

Check first the fuse box, then the plugs and wiring under driver's seat...

Ok thanks.

Its an 07 plate so under warranty. I will check the fue box first though. Everything else works fine and the airbag light lights up and goes off after a few seconds so I assume all is OK wth the Airbag and pretensioner system. It only had its airbag recall a few months ago. come to think about it I think that may be when the seat belt alarm may have stopped working?

Mine doesn't work from the 1st day and i thought that it wasn't in standard , is any way to be programmed thru VagCom? or i have to check fuses 1st

??

It is easy to check...

Just look the driver's seat belt lock, there must be wiring like this:

Thank you very much for the photo.

Well it answers a question. There is no wire on our car thus it must be one of the first models or for some reason the seatbelt reminder was not fitted. Its an 07 plate ex Milton keynes Skoda car (Skoda were first owners)

I will make some enquires with Skoda to find out some more info.

The Roomster trim level 1 with 1.2 engine was tested for Euro NCAP, the base model ever, it took 2 points from the seat belt reminder. IMO, a 5 star car sould have it as standard.

No wire in my seat (Roomster Scout 1.4 16v) but it is also a different design (i think) i will post asap a photo from my roomster. I can believe that in 2008 there are versions without belt reminder... Probably i have to pay visit to my local dealer

We rung the dealer but they were not sure if fitted or not so suggest popping the car in.

Will do one of these days. I am pretty sure that our model just does not have them fitted as there is no wire at all on the seat belt stalk.

Unfortunately my Roomster Scout 1.4 16v does not have it as a standard and to fit it afterwards the cost is 200 euros. The strange is that when i order it nobody inform me that this is an extra option :(. This is not so important as i always use seat belt, but i thougth it was standard for all models...

thanks again

Last Sunday I got warning chimes when a passenger didn't put on her seatbelt immediately and again when she undid her belt to get out. Both times I had kept the engine running. Since then, passengers have got in whith the engins stopped but I only seem to get the warning light and no chimes if I start the engine before they have fastened their belt.

Is this normal please?

having read through the handbook yet again I can answer my own question. You get the warning chimes if you get to 20kph with a belt undone.
