Just got a couple of quick questions that I couldn't find an answer to in the search.

1: Freedom talk forum - I'm guessing this another part of the forum which at the moment I cannot see?

2: Priority booking and discounted ticket price for events - What sort of events?

3: Access to our promotions/group buys - I can already see this forum. Does this mean there are more promotions/group buys for freedom members or that you cannot join a current group buy without being a member?

4: List of discounts - Is there a list to view anywhere?

When I did the search I cam across a huge thread with some guy having a go at the membership. This is not my intention here at all. I'm just curious to the above points. Would also like to point out the help I've received so far has been spot on and extremely useful.

I've only just today signed up. I see it more as a way of financially supporting a great forum though than for the benefits of membership itself. This forum has definitely saved me much more than £12 with the advice I have received on a couple of problems with my car

1. Yes it is, you will also be able to post in ask a tech and the for sale threads and offer any services of a non commercial nature you may wish.

2. Priority booking and discounts, for instance some activities, such as the Prague trip/ road trip may be advertised in Freedom first and only opened to general membership if places are left, any national meets organised officially by BRISKODA may carry a discount/ subsidised fee for freedom members.

3. Group buys run by freedom members may be run in very much the same way as point 2. so if fully subscribed not opened up to general membership.

4. Includes cheap RAC, bulbs, oil, free Brisky sticker and various others. The list is ever expanding.

also members with vag com are more likely to help a freedom member out for nothing

but as i and another poster have posted above it supports a great site with great info.

The benefits of freedom are as posted above,

One thing to remember, is that if it was not for freedom then briskoda would have had to close a long time ago. The site now attracts so many visitors from all over europe, there is no way that the founder would be able to fund the current hosting and huge bandwidth requirements from his own bank account. Briskoda generates so much traffic and search queries that we needed to buy our own webserver and pay to have it hosted within a hosting company. Then there are the software licenses, bandwidth fees and more.

If you join freedom, you get all the benefits posted earlier and the knowledge that you have helped keep a worldwide source of skoda information alive. Your username is also changed to green as a way to identify you as a forum supporter.

I think as somebody else said - I see it more of a way of supporting the site than actual membership returns.

Since I found the site I've literally saved money as people give advice on issues - they were resolved without a costly visit to the dealer.

I was wondering what the process for joining Freedom whilst avoiding Paypal was - I'm extremely suspicious of them following a few issues that friends have had. The site has already been hugely helpful to me in the short time I've been using it properly, and it only seems right to pitch in
