Featured Replies

Dear Audience

I am a nutcase job that wants to get max power out of my Oil burning VRS Furby Ive got 5k to spend and ive already had these jobs done

  • Remap 172BHP currently
  • Sachs clutch
  • pd160 air intake
  • 312mm brakes
  • Green panel air filter
  • Jabba Arb

Question is what else can I have done to blow the Beeeep out of BMW's etc ?????

Can I get 4wd ? If so who does this ??? Whats the Max power I can achieve ??? etc HELP !!!!

Please respond with constructive advice thanks and the beers on me.

Front mount, bigger turbo and full exhaust system is next up I'd say

for 200-210 bhp

Don't think the 4WD is possible, you don't have the gearbox etc for it.

big turbo

fmic

diff

bigger injectors

meth / water injection

smf

custom remapp

could be up to 250bhp

A lot of people on here rate the Peloquin LSD.

Isn't Shifty's for sale? It's already running 250bhp+. Sell yours, buy Shifty's and pocket about £4K I reckon.

Hmm if you want big figures i would have chosen a clutch that utilities a Single Mass Flywheel, unless you've got the new sachs one?

Bit cheaper this one... start ripping stuff out and strip the interior down as well

If you've got 5k to spend then i'd buy an evo.

you need double that to run one tho, trust me:thumbup:

Well, I know nothing of anything on this front appart from the easy stuff i learnt on here.. but with 5k.. sureley you can get a man to put a bigger engine in.... like the

2.0 TDI 147 kW

(200 PS/197 bhp) @ 4400 rpm,

400 N·m (295 ft·lbf) @ 2500 to 3000

And that's not tuned.. though maybe not much power left to get outta that lump?

I should also say,.. I have no idea if it'll fit but it's been in the Occty, A4 & Jetta.

Someone please correct me if i'm wrong, but i was led to believe that that the 2.0 tdi's are not common rail and are not as tunable.

the older nes are not cr,but i think devonmikeyboys 330bhp one proves they are tunable enough if you have enough cash

4 wheel drive as been acheived by one of our Cz cousins but goodness knows the cost etc.

I would also consider a new suspemsion set up over std :)

How much do you all think Im looking at to get up to the 250bhp figure ????

AND... Is it possible to put a different gearbox in to gain higher top speed ???? If so recommendations for gearboxes transmissions etc are welcome.

Or just buy a fast car to start with and get some reliability thrown in for free (unless you are going to uprate everything including the badges)

Wheres the fun in that ??? Come on Fabia VRS Vs something quite a bit more expensive etc think about it the guy youve just kicked *** against has just spent around 30k on his new motor when along comes a 12k vrs that kicks his **** how gutted would you be.

(I LOVE BEING THE UNDERDOG):)

Surely the fun is having a great car. I enjoy fast cars, but I don’t get the boy racer thing, sorry. Kicking a$$ and Traffic light Grand Prixs don’t really prove anything, in fact I dare say if I got it right, my standard 2.0 Diesel might be ahead from 0 to 30mph over Shiftys car.

I understand modding cars, I have done it myself to several cars of my own, but surely there comes a point were it is uneconomic to continue. A sort of saturation point where you pour more money in, but make more problems for yourself. Lack of traction, a broken gearbox (I think there might be a few of those lying around Briskys floor) banjaxed clutches (is banjaxed a real word?). I also believe that the idea of a ‘Q’ car as they used to be known is no longer relevant as most petrol and Derv heads seem to know how to spot a tuned Derv. Anything with a turbo is easy to tune up cheaply, so most ppl take this into account if they are silly enough to get into Man on Man action at the traffic lights. I have been behind a few fast VRs Furbies and to be honest the amount of structural damage I think I would have sustained if I had stayed directly behind them would have bankrupted me………..soot that sounds like grit when it hits your bonnet.

I have a lot of respect for Shiftys car because it is a really fast cross country car, not because it can outdrag a Golf Turbo.

So surely if I can spot a tuned car, nearly all petrol heads can do so. Modding is great fun, but Brisky does sometimes seem to turn into a boyracers paradise. get a ride in Shiftys car to see what a Furby really can do (and it's not the acceleration that will impress you, honest) and Daves a handy driver too, so hold on tight.

not trying to put a dampener on your high spirits, but rather trying to give you a different perspective.

You should attend a mini meet when Dave is there. He sometimes goes to the Malt meet off J22 on the M62.

I can see you have your power/speed blinkers on, so I will stop for now:eek:
