Strange Ticking type noise

Featured Replies

hey guys, my car has started making a ticking type noise under load, doesnt it sometimes and not others, thort it may have been a recirc valve fault but replaced that and it still does it! car is lacking power when it happens like there is a boost leak, car is a 1.8t elegance

FIXED! you wouldnt guess what it was, had the car on the hoist checking the wastegate and all boost pipes, and my hand landed on something and it wiggled, the bolts holding the turbo to the manfold were loose! tightened all 3 (after taking a few bits off) all back together and running alot beter, more power and the boost doesnt feel like it dies off :)

Glad you got it sorted :)

I had a similar problem on an Escort, a major rattling when slowing down. After a lot of investigation it turns out to be loose nuts on the exhaust downpipe!
