Octavia brake judder

Featured Replies

I have a 1999 octavia with 210,000 miles. I had bad judder so changed all discs/pads having previously replaced wishbone bushes ball joints roll bar links and bushes. Cured the problem for 2000 miles now back! Pretty sure it is front nearside disc as high brake dust on rim. Tyres have been rotated to no effect. No accidents (have owned since new). Am I just unlucky and have another warped disc or is there an underlying problem causing this? I am light on brakes getting 100,000 to set of pads/discs. Any suggestions welcome

Sounds like a warped disc for sure, ive seen it happen before sometimes when you use a cheaper spurious disc

Is that caliper binding? At those kind of miles the caliper pistons and seals may want a service. This is also indicated by the level of brake dust on this rim. If the brake is not releasing fully a warped disc will follow very quickly (especially if poor quality).
