vRS TDi software update

Featured Replies

I happened to be in my local Skoda dealership earlier last week and was informed that there have been 2 ecu software updates released recently , one of which concerns the DPF sensor. So if you haven't been in recently (my car was serviced at the end of July and they weren't available then) it may be worth nipping along.

Yep got mine done free at last service.

currently waiting on my third recall - going in on Saturday (1st Nov)

Recalls so far

1, engine management software update

2, DPF sensor replaced and new software

3, something to do with the EDL sensor and software

this is all covered extensively in another thread!!

the update is "campaign 26e6" i dont think that they are actual "recalls" though!!

1, Firstly I thought that the information might be useful to MisterGT.

2, The letter I recieved from the dealer describes them as recalls and not updates

And I quote -

" We have been advised by Skoda UK that there is an outstanding recall on the above vehicle.

It is of utmost importance that we check your vehicle over and if necessary replace components as required, this recall is carried out at no cost at all to yourself"

It's not a recall though, it's the dealer calling the car in to earn the cash from Skoda as times are hard and they also gain 'points' for the dealership in terms of productivity.

Sound like you have a very pro-active dealer.

I only found out about the 26E6 campaign when I rang to book the car in to check some 'hesitation under warm up'.

oh, dealer points eh.

That'll be why they tried to fix the current wind noise issue, rather than replace with new (modified) parts. They said it might need to come in again if it hadn't worked.

So I get 2 x 80 mile trips and the fuel bill, they get some points and the warranty wonga. :o
