Peculiar Favorit brake bleeding order

Featured Replies

Haynes says to bleed in following order. Right hand front, left hand rear, left hand front, right hand rear.

I've been told that in general the sequence should always be the ones with the longest pipes first - therefore right hand rear, left hand rear, right hand front, left hand front (and this is what the Haynes says for the Felicia).

I don't suppose Haynes got the order wrong? Only thing I can think is it's some quirk of the tandem-type brake cylinder the Favorit has and where the brake pipes are connected to it? Apparently the primary circuit (the piston closest servo) operates RHF and LHR, and the secondary circuit LHF and RHR.

yeah it does have an odd sequence becasue of the reasons you stated, also the master cylinder is on the right(as you face the car) even on the right hand drive models and it has a linkage going across the car

Haynes have got it right, as you say , cos of the tandem master cylinder
