Sebastien Loeb - 5 Times WRChampion!!

Featured Replies

Yes, he's done it again. 5 World Championships, well done to Seb & Daniel.

Unfortunately, he's done it on the same weekend as the F1 Title is decided. But in my mind, he's in another league to the roundy roundy boys..

Massa/Hamilton??? Who are they??

Leob is a serious talent alright, well done.

Loeb is an extremely talented driver, there is no questioning that.

Would be nice for some of the other drivers to give him a better challenge though, since the retirement of Gronholm.

Not been watching this year due to odd work times, but well done Loeb. Its a bit dull 5 times in a row now :) Roll on next year and maybe some fresh challengers.

He practically is a roundy roundy boy - look at the way WRC cars handle these days and hence why his so good.

Must admit that I agree with Fluffy Bunny in some ways. I have become really disillusioned with the WRC as it has become more and more boring as a contest as:

- manufacturers have pulled out leaving very few "works" or WRC cars;

- big differentials between the ability / speed of those works cars remaining;

- the shortening of all rallies and elimination of the long distance & really tough rallies meaning the attritional aspects of rallies rarely throw up unusual results.

Loeb does appear brilliant as a driver (and I will never denigrate the ability of rally drivers in general) but I do think its a shame that Loeb hasn't had to face the strength in depth of competitors (cars and drivers) and differing styles of rallies of the old days (late 70s and 80s). The continuing focus on short special stages makes WRC rallying far more roundy roundy than it should be IMHO :(.

Anyway :thumbup: to Seb

Well done to Seb & Danial again. :thumbup::thumbup:

Loebs record alone sets him out as one of, if not the greatest of all time.:cool:

Still love watching WRC even if this year there seemed to be only 2 makes compeating.

Hopefully next year will be more competative with Mitsubishi back, Subaru making progress & Suzuki too.

Mitsubishi ain't coming back! Suzuki not confirmed yet for next year. Subaru are switching dampers next year in a bid for more speed, new Impreza hasn't been a great sucess so far.

You're quite right - no chance of Mitsubishi coming back. Suzuki seemed to be hampered by a lack of testing, cash, etc - similar to Skoda actually. Subaru seem to be guessing at what there problems are - this week it's the dampers, maybe next week it'll be the engine.

And to cap it all the 2010 regs are still up in the air.

and Ford have been on about pulling out if the WRC isn't promoted better.

Right then, time to enter a Briskoda WRC winner.:rofl::rofl:
