Vauxhall Insignia - my first spot

Featured Replies

I saw the car at the London Motorshow and thought it looked o.k but was very dependent on the colour:looked best in black and dark metallics. I agree about the interior and the feel of the materials inside however : Nasty.

How do you get invited on one of these motoring testing junkets by the way, have always fancied going on one.

I'd registered my interest via the website, they'd said some people would be e mailed with invites. The invite was sent at 2pm and by the time I logged on and registered at 4.45pm many of the dates were already booked up. I think I was one of those selected as I had ticked I was looking at buying (choosing in my case) a new car in the next few months.

It really was a great day, fed first then a jazzy presentation with the new Tourer being driven onto the turntable stage, a split into small groups to be shown the car at close quarters...this lasted about 20 minutes. Then outside to the sight of about 60 Insignias and several competitor cars, a 2 minute briefing and then they started a big digital clock on a 1 hour countdown and said away you go! We weren't allowed in the 5th lane of the 2 mile bowl and they said 100mph max (widely flouted!) Was quite shocked really.

The hilly route was about 3 miles long and quite challenging, the only problem was leaving a big enough gap infront so you could enjoy the drive as opposed to going round in convoy.

They must have spent a fortune....and I'm just ordering a new Superb!

It just looks like they got the balance all wrong with the back end :(

I know what you mean Len, but in the flesh with big (19") wheels it looks the muts nuts.

I think it looks better in the flesh than in these pictures and somewhat better proportioned IMHO than the Mondeo which is too big and wide. I would be interested in trying the 160 bhp Diesel.
