Turbo failure - what to do now!!?

Featured Replies

I fitted a Forge front mount at the weekend to mine and am just waiting for my Allard VT2 Turbo & EGR by-pass kit to turn up. Also brought a Milltek De-CAT to finish it off  Can't wait to get it mapped after fitting. Although im currently £1500 lighter as a result

How much did the VT2 skin you? i was personally thinking VT3

£810 delivered on an exchange basis for my old one.

Not bad, was your old unit KKK or Garrett??

If you upgrade your std turbo to a stage 2 unit, the turbo will come in later and peak torque / power will be higher up the rev range, Does this then mean you have a larger off-boost rev range? Thus making it still very economical.

I'll be looking to go stage 2 turbo, clutch, FMIC early next year and was just wondering. Obviously on boost it will use more juice, but driving off boost with very light throttle say up to 2500 rpm can you still see mpg up in the 50's??

I'll be looking for around 200-210 bhp / 350 - 380 ft lbs

Thanks.

yes turbo comes in later in the rev range..

I running a 175 Fabia on OE turbo and my mate running a Stage 2 with around 220bhp over a 150mile journey at 70mph had very similar results, think i had 52mpg and he bettered my with 53mpg - swine
