Event Tyres

Had four new boots fitted today.

Have to say, very impressed with the service. Placed an order Sunday evening. They phoned me yesterday to arrange fitting for today and arrived early.

Prompt, courteous, no scuffing, balances fitted on the correct side , the convenience of them coming to my work place, and a good price.

225/45/17 Eagle F1 GSD3's.

KwikFit price - £400.

MyTyres - £330 (without fitting).

I paid £360 which i'm very happy with :)

give us a review when they've bedded in ;) errr well you can bed them in on Sunday actually ;)

'Nother  for Event - 9 of my last 15 tyres have been supplied and fitted by them. The faff surrounding the other 6 just convinced me I should stick with them! :D

Memory failure - but the point's still the same!

I concur, had the last 8 of mine, plus various other family members tyres from event mobile and the time problem I've ever had was one lad who slipped and scuffed a tyre. They couldnt apolgise enough and got it reconditioned straight away.

Top site/service and highly recommended

Another recomendation for the here. Had T1-R's fitted all round a few months ago. So much less hassle than going somewhere, queing, waiting when they will come round a fjust fit them where ever you want.

Why not the Asyms?

event tyres are a complete joke in my opinion.

I used the twice in the last few months. First time, they fitted two new rear tyres. everything was ok, but when i got home, and decided to clean the wheels a bit (had muddy hand prints on it from where the fitter held it), i noticed the alloys had been stratched. These were not there before.

2nd occasion (i thought id give them the benefit of the doubt and try them again) was by far the worst experience. Front tyres were fitted. I asked the fitter, did you balance them as well. He didnt look me in the face, when answering but told me he had.did a drive on the motorway the next day and had horrible vibrations coming from the steering wheel. At first i thought maybe by some slim possibility the tyres were needing bedding in. 100 miles later still no change. So i took it down to a local tyre fitter who checked them over and showed me that event tyres had not balanced the wheels at all. They had just stuck the weights randomly. The problem was corrected. It was also discovered that the near side tyre was 30psi and the off side was 46psi!!!

i did complain to event

i will never use event tyres again. They seemed good on the surface, but go deeper and my experiences with them were a rushed job, with no care at all.

and further to that both fitters from event were keen for me to go inside my place of work saying dont worry we'll call you when its done.:thumbdwn:

Maybe i've been unlucky with them, or the fitters were just very bad

I've got event coming out on saturday morning to put 4 Toyo T1-Rs on to get me back to going round corners safely again! will post my review of their work after, but so far impressed with the customer service - they rang me to confirm about 1 minute after i booked it online.

Another five tyres fitted by Event yesterday - did a spot-on job as ever!

Well impressed with the service I got from Event Tyres today. Turned nice and early like they said (7.30am) and did all 4 in no time at all. No scratches, no fuss, friendly service, good banter and a good price! The fitter did ask for me leave a testimonial on their website about him - apparently it is how they get their bonuses, so nearing xmas is probably a good time to get a good service from them!:thumbup:

Do you mean Event tyres, Manchester? I fitted a few sets of tyres by them on my car and the wifes' always been fine. Mine an Octavia with Eagle F1's and hers a punto with Continentals ecocontacts...I find them to be spot on.
