'blistering' damage to door trim -

Featured Replies

I know that this has been covered in the past, but unfortunately I can't find any previous threads

Am I right in thinking that some members have had their driver's door trim replaced under Warranty?

I ask because its going in for its 2nd service (37k) next week, and I was hoping that I'd be able to get it sorted with a few other minor niggles (wonky headlight & rear washer again) while its there.

Also, has anyone come across 'Bosch Services at Autocars'? I assume that its a chain of service agents, but I've not come across them before. Are they any good?

TIA,

Sam

A few members have had this done, is it where your elbow rests on the top of the door card?

Yes, that's it.

I thought it had been mentioned before, but wanted confirmation that I wasn't making it up before I asked for the work to be done under warranty.

Mines gone like that as well, i'll add it to the list of warranty jobs when I go in

Mine too (car registered Sep '06)

I'm booked in for an 'inspection' on 20th so they can order the parts (or try to wriggle out of the work).

I'll let you all know how it goes.

Mine needs doing also, amongst other things

Happened to mine replaced by dealer under warranty.

Is this inside the door? Have had rear bumper replaced cos of blistering and now in the process of getting exterior door plastic trim sorted as well.

What other things are common so I can check them before it is too late?

Just got back from the Dealer's, the trim IS covered, they're going to order the door card, and do the work while I wait next tuesday.

They also replaced a failed rear bulb for me while it was in being inspected

Does anyone know if its possible to retrieve a dropped bulb from within the bumper :rofl::rofl::rofl:

Are you sure its in the bumper and not the bodywork of the car?, sounds like a bit of carpet moving to get at it. IIRC if you loosen the screw for the nets you get a bit more room to get at stuff that falls down by pulling carpet out of the way.

I've managed to get most of my arm down the hole, but can only feel 'space' - my hand must be (nearly) inside the bumper by that stage. Its only a bulb, i'm not fussed about losing an item that cost <£1, but I don't want it to start rattling. Maybe I'll just turn the radio up :D

TBH I can't see it being in the bumper, if you remove your bumper you ain't left with a hole in the bodywork ;). If I were you a would start looking, before it falls into somewhere where you'll never get at it (maybe try get your hands on a small magnet, or someone with really small hands :D).
