Vehicle Details

Featured Replies

A couple of years ago, there used to be a page on the RAC website which, on entering a registration number, would come up with the make/model of car, and (I think) if it was currently taxed.

Is there anything like this available for free now? I'm interested to know what happened to my old Superb, but it's not showing as being insured on the ASKMID site. May just mean that it's had a change of plates, or possibly written off :(

I had the car from new as a company car, but had to let it go after only 8 months when I was made redundant (the 2004 Comfort in my Sig). I'm just interested to see if it's still on the road somewhere - anything out there that would give me this info? I suspect not, but you never know....

and click on vehicle enquiry.

Thanks for that :)

Just tried, and it says "Vehicle details could not be found". Must be dead :(

it might not be dead, if its had a cherished reg plate put on then your old one is not recognised.

What does it mean if in the date of liability section that the date is in the past? Does this mean the car been written off and is no longer on the road?

I think the date of liability is the date that the last recorded tax disc expired. So if it's in the past, it would suggest that it's either being used without tax, or it's not on the road.

PM me the plate if you want, and I'll have a look into it for you.
