New Car - Fun for a Yellow HATER?

Featured Replies

Short version

Looking for a FUN to take to Spain

Problems:

  1. Difficult to import RHD commercial vehicles. Is a Fun classed as commercial or a private/pleasure car (forget the term).
  2. I hate yellow (anyone know of resprayed one, or a modded caddy etc)
  3. Ideally want a diesel. I recall reading years back there was a diesel version (LHD for mainland europe). Was I dreaming?

Long Version

OK, so my trusty felly 1.9d has racked up a respectable extra 18k miles in 11months, and at 117k miles broke down last week for the first time (see alternator pulley threads if youre not bored enough). The wife´s faith is shaken, so she requests a more reliable ride after been standed in a Morrocan barrio (dont understand the problem myself, try living in a whole bloody country of foreigners, thats a stress). Now by coincidence Ive been looking out for a suitable 2nd (or 1st) car for a few months now, but here in Spain anything out of manufacturers waranty has no history or is battered to hell or is priced like its gold plated. Anyway, I was looking for a TDi VW Caravelle (for various reasons its the perfect allrounder), but I would really like to stay Skoda, always fancied a Fun aswell. Would have got one already but hate yellow (in fact turned down the only decent Caravelle I found because it was yellow - kicked myself, as when I came back to the guy it was gone... grrrr).

Anyway anyone ever seen my perfect ride, a Silver FUN TDi????

Answer to

Q1, it is classed as a commercial vehicle.

Q2, ive seen several that have been sprayed different colours, and most look like a chavved up f*** up.

Q3, yes there were a few 1.9 diesels made for mainland europe, and 1.3s too

Q1: In czech is FUN classed as private car. And in German or Czech Rep. there are LHD cars...

Q2: In other colors then yellow, Fel Fun is terrible. my friend has car in red.

Q3: Felicia Fun was made only as petrol 1.6 and diesel 1.9D. Officially petrol 1.3 doesn't exist. Although my friend has this type of engine... You could have TDI only as swap engine. :)

Q1:. Officially petrol 1.3 doesn't exist. . :)

I beg to differ on this one as it is offered with the 1.3 in the marketing literature, and ive seen more 1.3s in europe , on my travels, than diesels and 1.6s

In official booklet they wrote only about 1.6 and 1.9D... It's strange, you saw 1.3 more then 1.6/1.9D... For sale on ebay thera are only 1.6 and 1.9D...
