new fuel filter problems after change felicia

Featured Replies

Hi I changed the fuel filter on my 1.9 skoda felicia diesel but now it will not start back up.I did prime the filter first and the car was running fine before I replaced the filter.Any ideas Tom

How long have you turned the engine over for? Even with a fully primed filter it could take a minute or so to clear air bubbles and for the injectors to self-bleed before the engine will fire.

Hi going to try again today as I let it turn over for a few minutes. Thanks

Crack the injector pipes off at the injectors, and spin it over until fuel comes out. Tighten them up , and it should start

Surely only necessary if the injectors don't self-bleed?

Incidentally, the only time I've ever done this I was helping a guy with an FX-4 out, and he insisted on keeping the engine running on 3 (which needed 3 hands, hence why he needed help) whilst he bled the 4th injector.
