Who has the most powerful PC?

Featured Replies

what laptop have you got matt?

the scores pretty close to mine seeing as its running half the speed from what i can see.

Dell Inspiron 1525, I did expect the Core speed to be slightly higher.

Check out my little 1.8 baby go!! haha.

Ref; My post on Shiftys thread (New PC) on what a great little core the 4300 is (for the money*)

I overclocked mine to 2.7 GHz and it was just shy of 13k marks

  • 1 month later...

11450 From a Core2 Duo e7300 running 3.33Ghz

  • 2 weeks later...

now i've installed windows 7 64bit and a newer, bigger, faster Hdd my score has gone from 6036 to 6022

Just found this thread and it's quite interesting. Would be good if someone could make a comparison table or spreadsheet. Something like all the quadcore and dual scores together. I'll have to run it through mine to see what I get.

Faster in what way?

Spin speed, latency, amount of cache etc etc?

Run mine, just normal, virus scanner and things all still in background.

good reading this, can someone help me to overclock mine please?

AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual core 5600+

cheers

all of that.

old one was a 5400rpm sata-150 160Gb with an average latency of 5.6ms and average seek time of 12ms and 8mb of cache(its one of these Samsung SpinPoint M HM160JI - Hard drive - 160 GB: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo )

and the new one is a 7200rpm sata-300 250Gb with an average latency of 4.17ms and average seek time of 11ms and 16Mb of cache(its on of these Seagate ST9200420ASG 200GB 2.5" Hard Drive SATAII 16MB Cache 7200rpm G-FORCE - OEM - Ebuyer )

:)

Hmm, what hardware platform is that?

I've just done it on an HP BL480c server with dual E5450 CPUs running at 3GHz / 8GB RAM and it's slower

 all parts arrived today but the drives are wrong (oem version with no 3.5" heatsink surround) so they will probably be returned for the correct versions. :( May get to start the build over the next few evenings; watch this space...

Dare I ask how much that all cost you? :o

Dare I ask how much that all cost you? :o

You can ask.... ;):o

Lets just say there was some self control involved; I originally had a Radeon 4870 x2 in the basket instead of the 4870!...:o

Hehe... you should have bitten the bullet and gone for a GTX 295!!

That should be one hell of a machine... and will no doubt be costing you a pretty penny!

Where you ordering it from?

Just been having a play on Scan.co.uk and seeing how much these processors and motherboards etc are.

*Anyone want to buy an Abit fatl1ty with a Q6600 and 4gb OCZ reaper memory??!!*

*This isn't an Ad to sell... i'm only messing!!

Ordered it from DABS.com - always had good service from them before

I've just sorted the returns number for the drives and ordered the right ones - they should be here by Friday....

oh and I also forgot myself and added a second Radeon 4870 :o:o:D
