from what i've seen gary i completely agree that you don't need ESP, you don't go anything like fast enough to do any damage if something went wrong :)

Thanks for the indepth answers guys

The ASR does seem to do something on my Fabia . . . Although its off now! ;)

absolute and complete rubbish that, ESP works amazingly in the snow on my octavia, take a look at this too.

YouTube - Top Gear - Fifth Gear - Bosch ESP

From personal experience in my MkV Golf Gti - it was no good at all in snow. It all depends on the road conditions.

If you like the brakes firing all the time when you are going in a straight line then when you apply the brakes it doesn't slow down because the antilock system cuts in - it was great.

I am not slagging the system off because I did pay to have it fitted to my Octavia VRS mkII. The system saved me from the armco when I hit diesel on an island once in my Golf.

on an objective note i went round the ring with a certain crazy belgian member in his fabia vrs with esp equipped and allthough he does know the ring very well he was trying to crash/terrify me,and his comments when throwing his car into every corner his comment was "its ok i have esp" it was mighty impressive tho:D
