Awesome RR Day 15th Nov 2008: Post Meet Discussion

Featured Replies

Well, it made a spirited dash at the end as the last car on ...........

163.97 Bhp

248.75 ft-llbs

The .97 and .75 make all the difference :) the curve is pretty good to John

Just checked out your curves Tony and they look good :D

Told you the 105 mapped well.... not much difference between that and the 130 with a generic map in reality - or have you added anything else?

I shall be back in the NW in a couple of weeks, and high on my list of things to do is check out the vPopemobile

Interesting that your highest BHP and torque figures weren't on the same run. You got the most power on your first run, but the most torque on your 3rd :)

BTW, where did you get your C&F stickers for the rear side windows of the Fab from??

I noticed the same with my results..... Different runs for the highest HP & torque readings...... Just assumed it might be normal.

Cheers

Dave.

With a diesel, I took it that results should improve with each run. Perhaps that's just with a FMIC though, because heatsoak may be an issue with an SMIC. On each of my runs yesterday, each BHP and torque figure improved on the last.

I'll try to scan my graph in later...

Steve

Looking at the other graphs people have posted they're all the same highest power & highest torque on differnet runs. Must be the way in which each run is done.

Graham

207bhp and 340lb/ft

Pleased with that....

Steve

Not bad at all that!

does it still show the massive flat inital curve then a rocket to the sky power line that it showed previously?

  • Author

It's better than before; but perhaps there's still room for improvement :)

Did Jabba sport turn up with the PD130 octi? if they did how did it do?

  • Author

No, they couldn't make it, as they had too much on down there :(

is the blue line from a previous run on the rollers Steve ?

  • Author

Yeah, they've started doing that, if you've run the car before. The blue line you see was from a run in Feb this year, rather than the Brisky day in 2007. Not really a fair run to compare against really, as the car wasn't really running right with the bloody EGR bypass  - you'll see the torque figure is lower than it should be.

Steve

thanks for the day steve

my missus's fab had 166bhp at the flywheel and 283 ft/lbs.

i dont understand how a custom code remap only gives you 11bhp and 20ft/lbs.i need to ring jbs and ask questions. when it was standard it had 155bhp and 268ft/lbs on the same rollers. im confused

Nice to see you both again Phil. Yeah, let me know how you get on with your investigation

Steve

Great day today..... Very happy at my figures..... 165.3hp and 298.1 torques..... And i hadn't even bothered to nudge the dragon box up to max power setting!!!! :D

Great to meet people.... I think just about everyone was a new face today.... apart from Oilburninut....... I've never seen so many grown adults willing on a swift so much.:thumbup::thumbup: Apologies to anyone i did speak to as i didn't bother introducing myself.... as per usual.

Also thanks to MikeSMS56 for the top info on the golf wing mirrors.:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

As mentioned Steve.... Any chance i could have copies of the pics you took of my motor whilst on the rollers???

Think i'll get Ange to bring her furby along next time.

Cheers

Dave.

Hi ya Dave, I too never think to introduce myself, I think I was chatting to you by the monitor by the Awesome TT and we spoke again in the Awesome shop after our run. I took video footage of your Furby on my mobile (Its 5.0 mega pixel so it should be ok) if you want it I'll try to E-mail it to you if you IM me your E-mail.

Hey up Steve....... Yeah it was me.... nice to meet someone new at a meet. I got my runs on video so was just interested to see what a pro photographer like Wardy came up with. :D

Did you get to the bottom of your query regarding the output on yours..... I seem to remember you thought it was a little low?

Cheers

Dave.

Great to meet you too. Regarding my run figures, as i wrote in a post yesterday, the RR i did a few years ago gave figures of 230.4bhp and 228.7ftlb at clutch and 178.9bhp at wheels. Yesterday i did 208.75bhp and 214.59ftlb at clutch and 186.33at wheels. I know its been a few years between RR's and i may have lost a few bhp but Now I'm just confused how my clutch reading can be lower but my at wheel figure is higher?

Any ideas???

Steve.[/quote']i believe the first rr was incorect,50bhp in transmission losses seems very high, which would lead me to believe the first set of figures were a little wayward, about 10% is more like it:thumbup:

Hey there, thanks for the response. I tend to believe the first RR as it was done by AmD when they did my remap. :) But not so sure now.

Edited by vader vrs

good figures from the vRoomster

Thanks Rick, It really does drive well with the suspension mods and there is now "enough" power to make it an entertaining little motor when you want it and gentle family plodder when you don't. the graph has a tiny dint at 2.6k then keeps it levelled off until just after 3.5k.

I'm really happy with the little vRoomster, it even looks "ok" in Black

There's a "De-Baffled" airbox as it's the same airbox as the Fabia, PD160 intake, PiperCross filter. That run was on Asda sludge without any millers as I ran out a couple of tank fulls ago and need to grab some more (I'm sure it's not a placebo).
