Awesome RR Day 15th Nov 2008: Post Meet Discussion

Featured Replies

this might sound mad, but am havin a blonde moment.how come my torque is loads and loads higher then everyones else's.thought my hp would be higher.
because its a diesel, they tend to run much higher torque than petrols, but you must have missed the leon cupra run,it ran near 350ft/lbs of torque and 315bhp,yours seemed to be in the normal range for a mapped vrs tho so good result(still a little behind mine tho,176bhp/346ft/lbs:P)you would need an uprated clutch to go any higher.

Nice to meet some of you today, although prop missed most of you as i couldn,t get there until 2pm. Happy with my K1. It made 316bhp and 349.8lb/ft of torque. Thats on standard downpipe/cat and exhaust. Will be sorting a 3" d/p and race cat soon so should be a bit more to come.

Had a nice encounter with a newish Carrera4 on the way home. He didn,t like it when i pushed him to ***mph :orb_wave: then cruised on by when he moved over :orb_rockiGod i love my car:orb_blow_

i love your car too:D
Go on Chris, rub it in

Nice to see you again mate :)

You to matey.

thought i would be the first to post a graph or two up

1st the little swift, which did really well because it knew you were all willing it on,poor little thing couldn't quite make 100bhp,but it did me proud:D

and heres the beast, not present today as shes a little bit poorley, but ran not so long ago on these rollers so can be used for comparisons :D

look at the size of my torque penis:D

Not too shabby Gary, just kissing 100 BHP :)

absolutly astounding considering its only a bog standard 1.3 len,i think it gave a bit more cos everyone showed it some love:D

I didn't know the pope was in the country.:P:P:P

Also thanks to MikeSM56 for the top info on the golf wing mirrors.

My pleasure:thumbup:

Good day everyone!

Again, nice to see some old faces, and some new ones too.

Love the Superb Pete, nicer than I thought it would be. It such a long walk around it though!!

K1 really suprised me, as did Chris's flying banana. Good figures from both! :)

Was a bit disappointed with mine. Seemed to slip the clutch  Still, 200bhp at the wheels isn't to be sniffed at. Chris's yellow thing didn't seem to bother it too much on the way back :P

Oh, and cheers for the beer Johnny. Briskoda couriers at your service!!

Some nice number's there as well, and lets hope Tom's tyres last the trip home

 I just couldn't help myself

I was quite pleased with mine. :) 15.7bhp up at the wheels from last time to 145.7whp, which apparently equates to 160.1 bhp at the fly. Going to lighten mine a bit more now . . . currently 1280kg kerb weight which is even lighter than my PD100 Fabia!:D

Yes Rob, impressive figures from the GT. Sounds great too!!

Heres the vRoomster graph ... it's consistent over 2 different sets of rollers so I'm pretty happy with that

Ok here's my graph...... As said above i'm more than happy with the results bearing in mind i only have a dragon box fitted (not on full power setting either) with PD160 & Cotton filter, rather than a remap.

If taking into account re-sale value of the dragon box i'm happy with only a slight difference in power to a remap etc but with what would probably be near a quarter or third of the cost.....

Had good day today was eger to see what the remap had done to the numbers, must say having the same engine, remap and pannel filter as matt@theforce i assummed that i would have similar numbers (and secretly hoped for a tiny bit more just to annoy him :P) but as you can see I feel I'm about 10bhp off

Here's my graph to compare. It might just have been due to the RR being re-calibrated or different running temperatures etc etc. The real test would have been for me to run my car on them yesterday. I notice we both have that same spike around 1,700rpm.

On a similar note i'd like to know if anyone has been on the rollers with a similar setup to myself..... i.e. dragon box.... to see if they get the same biiiiiiig drop off as i do at around 4250.

Cheers

Dave - I know Ric (ric04vrs) ran a Dragon Box with his silver vRS on previous occassions. Give him a shout, or have a scan over the past days at http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/page.php?jssCart=d5d17b0fde496fd6925b1c2a03b64b03&xPage=rollingroad.html

Steve

i think i only ran my Dragon box on the middle setting (7 of 16) no obvious spike on my graph though

good figures from the vRoomster

and i bet the K1 is an awesome bit of kit

pity i missed all the action , i had to work

Tony that vRoomster is awesome.

which power figure do u quote when u say what power your vehicle is? clutch power or max power?

I know the dragon box is supposed to not over fuel at low and top end so i reckon it's just the point where the dragon box stops over fuelling..... The plot does seem to fall off gradually then after the big drop it carries on falling off at the same sort of rate. I can't remember noticing it in normal use as i don't take it much over 4k anyways.

Obviously my info on the RR form stated i had a dragon box so i assume if it was something really bad the guys at Awesome might have mentioned it???

Cheers

Dave.
