I get this as well and have said to the garage about it and they said that they couldn't do much for it. My dad also had this on his 1.9 Diesel, just think it is something to do with the design of it.

Check the exhaust hangers. If any are broken, replace them. If there are any apparantly ok rubber ones, check how they compare with a new one from an exhaust centre, and replace if necessary.

No promises, but it might help.

I think it's a common problem made more annoying by all the speed humps which councils love. Mine is bearable unless carrying passengers in the back. It was better after I got the garage to lower the exhaust slightly but I can't really be bothered to return for more adjustments.

I done all this when I noticed it on my Felicia and all of them were in good condition. I also have just recently had part of my exhaust replaced and I am still getting the noise. I said to the mechanic who I have dealt with for years and it is just one of those things as according to him the Exhaust on a Felicia can be used on several other cars as well and all get this noise to a degree.

One way we found to sort it a bit was to stretch the rubber hangers by applying some downwards pressure to the exhaust but it doesn't do much for it unfortunately.

mine knocks also when i have people in the back seat lol yeah i agree make sure exuast is attached properly

I haven't noticed unless the 1.6 exhaust is different to the 1.3

From what I was told by my mechanic it is across the range the worst offender though is the 1.9 Diesel. He also said it tends to only occur when the exhaust is replaced/supports replaced or tightened. He had a 1.6 and he had the problem as well but for some reason it isn't as bad on the 1.6.

You dont have to put up with it, I took a few trips back to kwik fit after fitting but they managed to sort it, its the back axle knocking the pipe it sounds much worse then it is which worries passengers!
