At what point do X5 drivers goto the school of kn0bs?

Featured Replies

Coming home from dropping SWMBO off at Uni along a dual carrige way which the left hand lane turns into a bus lane, I indicate to move to the outside lane before the bus lane starts, said x5 was leaving a big enough gap for me to pull into, I start my manovure then notice he is 1/2 way up the side of me  and the bus in front has just stopped, I carry on my manovure and said x5 driver carry's on trying to get passed me then pulls to the left sharply :mad: causing me to dive into the bus lane and narrowly avoiding some parked cars. Next thing I know he has stopped blocking both lanes gets out of his x5 and starts hurling abuse at me and threatening to kill me if I get out of the car:eek:, I have my 2 children in the back so look at him dressed in his thick pinstripe navy blue suit and pink shirt:rofl: and do my best to ignore him.

Meanwhile all the traffic behind is getting cross and blowing their horns at him but he wont leave my drivers door.

He keeps screaming "What right do you have to pull out in front of me" eeeerrrrrrr I indicate as you are behind me and then you try to overtake me after I start to pull out, what a t055er. In the end I lost it, I got out and told him what I thought of him but I didn't shout, I said it in a calm manner

"What the f*** (sorry kids) do you think you are doing in that pile of ****, all you had todo was sit behind me until the bus lane had finished and then you could have gone passed as I would have pulled in to turn left at the next junction, you saw me indicate and started to pull back to create a larger gap for me then you decided you you weren't going to let me out after I had started to pull out I couldn't pull back in as I would have been in a bus lane, you wouldn't have lost any time by letting me out now you've just lost all this time off your journey because your a ****. Oh by the way, I have something in the boot of my car that will fit nicely in that big fat ar$3 of a face. I walked to the boot of my car started to open it by which time he was allready in his car and shooting off down the road.:rofl:

The bus driver had also got out of his bus (saw and heard everything) had kindly written down both our number plates incase something happened. The bus driver spent a few mins with me and the kids as I was shaking and trying my best not to loose my temper especially with the kids in the car, and I didn't want them to feel threatened by that kn0b.

Keith (bus driver) if you do check out this site after you asked about the Briskoda sticker, THANK YOU, and to all on the bus, sorry you were a little late getting to where you were going, You helped massively helping calm my nerves before I got back in the car to drive home.

It's nice to see that there are some excelent people out there who are willing to help other out.

I know part of being a good driver is being able to anticipate other drivers on the road and I think deep down I knew he was going to do it after seeing how he was driving earlier. I know I shouldn't have got out of the car especially with my kids being in the car but I think I scared him by not shouting and talking to him in a calm but rude way. What I would really like todo now is find out where he lives, ring the doorbell and say remember me? just to see his face then walk away, hopefully that might scare him enough to be less of a kn0b and less I'm better than you in my 4x4.

I'm convinced thats what made him feel like he could shout abuse and force me to take avaisive action as he was in a big 4x4 and made him feel more superior. Little does he know that he obviously needs something like that to make up for other things ;) if you kow what I mean :D

Sorry if you have an x5 it's just that people like this give all x5 drivers a bad name, I know that not all x5 drivers are like this.

rant over, back at home and sitting down with a cuppa and a biccie (jammy dodger) haven't had one of these for years.

X5 = ***** car. No other options sadly. All other X5 drivers have this "bad name", so don't worry mate!

I'm glad you decided to fight and not flee, hopefully he'll use more of his brain next time.

Oh dear! Sounds tramatic!

Glad he turned out to be a whimp!

There are some real simpletons out there and unfortunately some are alowed behind the wheel of car!

Glad you managed to stay calm.. that show's you are a bigger man than he is (and judging by the size of the car he drives and his attitude you definately are a "bigger man" than he!)

lol

What really took me by suprise was Keith, he was great, he even offered me some of his tea from his flask on the bus. sadly I forgot to ask for his number but we did have a chat about Briskoda, he had seen the sticker and was asking me about it to help calm me down.

There not as bad as people make out those bus drivers :)

He seemed to know what to do then... distract you from what had happened and draw your attention elsewhere!

Just be glad and content in the knowledge that you have a bigger brain than him and took the higher moral ground (not shouting and all!)

I have to admit, I starting to question my own ability behind the wheel as I have been in a few close calls in the last month, last one someone pulled out of a side road to turn left and was hiden by the car turning right.

It does make you wonder though.

Well done for keeping a level head, And hope your kids didn't get a scare because of the actions of that tw4t!

I personally would have put him on his ar5e. :D

I'm a bus driver, The standards of driving i see on a daily basis, Makes you wonder how some drivers obtain and retain their licenses.

I know a few bus drivers, Grandad and Nanna's cousin were bus drivers until they retired a few years ago but they're nothing like that, they wouldn't have the time of day for what happened today

My eldest didn't say a word all the way home, I kept asking him if he was OK but he just sat there quietly. When we got home he said " It's alright daddy, he was a naughty man" which made me chuckle :D

It does bring to my mind that everyone should sit a refresher course every 3-5 years and if you don't pass it you license is taken away. It might just help keep everyone upto date with the highway code and also kerb peoples I'm bigger and better than you under a little more control

He was a **** before he got in the X5 and he will be one when he gets out.

Take comfort from the fact that Mr kn0bjokey as I shall affectionately call him probably bought his X5 on finance, is up to his neck in debt and can't actually afford it. I'm sure karma will come and get him.

Add to that the fact that the bus driver has his reg plate nad you have a lot of witnesses and I'd say if you went to the police his drivers licence would be at serious risk ;)

Report the incident of "road rage" to the police. They have to investigate. Period. Threatening behavior, verbal abuse in front of the kids isn't something they should be subject to. The bus company can always trace their driver as a witness.

P.S 99% of BMW drivers are ***** and they become enrolled into the school of knobs when their first thought of owning such cars enters their empty vacuous heads. Can't say brains.

Keith

If there is a bus lane on that road, they will probably have a camera there too so they can catch and fine people using that lane, so if you do report it there is a good chance it could be on film and land him in serious bother.

Glad you and your kids are ok after the ordeal, i'm sure the adrenalin would have been pumping and you did well to keep calm. I wish i could say i would have done the same, but if i felt my kids were being threatened i would probably do something that would get me in serioius trouble...

Complete tosh.

There are plenty of them in Audi's, Mercs any generic 4x4 and a good number of complete bell ends in fabia with HID kits fitted that p*ss me off on the way to/from work.

The people who are knobs, drive these cars because they are trying to compensate for something and make people think they are all that. They believe their own **** and this happens.

There are also plenty of decent people who drive BMW's, Merc and plenty of farmers who use a 4x4 as it was meant to be used.

bloke sounds like a total muppet :thumbdwn: probably worth reporting, if for no other reason than to save him from a proper shoeing when he really does does pick on the wrong bloke...

At the same time they buy the obligitary X5 private plate that every single X5 in the country seems to have.

Totally agree, there are plenty of idiots out there that drive many types of cars and vans, this X5 owner isn't any different except he happens to be the main offender today.

I know an X5 owner and he is a decent bloke, considerate driver and the type to let you out at a junction if your stuck there. He also doesn't have an 'X5' style private plate.

Next time your at a meet, have a look to see if any fellow Skoda owners don't treat the road like their own... i bet you'll see one, but we daren't mention it on a skoda forum?!

Im sad to say I became totaly ****ed off with a Fabia that thought an indicated 65-67 (actually 62-65 with speedo error) in the fast lane on the A34 meant she could stay there forever yesterday, even when there were huge gaps in the slow lane. Underook in the end & she still stayed there for everyone else.

If you read this Keith, have a virtual swally on me!

I have the wheelbrace in the spare compartment under the front passenger seat for just such incidences, See if he had shouted like that to me, i wudn't be long softening his cough!!!! :smashfrea

I used to carry a steering lock in my passenger footwell for this very reason and I'm very ashamed :o to admit to using it on a number of occasions when younger on people. This type of violence doesn't solve anything and scaring someone can be just as effective without getting physical.

This is a big problem on our roads and should it have been a genuine accident pulling out on someone how are you going to appologise when they come at you with a wheel brace, don't forget this could happen to your partners when they are out in a car, have a think about how that would make them feel if this happened to them.

A fair point well made :o - didnt spot the she bit

I did a naughty undertaking move on the M4 a while ago, someone did not fancy moving from lane 3 down to lane 1..

Unfortunately I was being followed by a police undercover M3 (Silver, nice car) and they told me off a bit. Fortunately for me they were stuck behind the guy for so long that they probably understood why I did it ;)
