Radiator AC Fan Control Module

Featured Replies

Hello Guys,

I have a 2002 Octavia L&K 1.8T, Today my AC Radiator Fan stop working.

There are 2 fans on the radiator. The big one stop working.

I recently fix a issue with the Fans fuse over the fuse box and I install a new fuse socket. Now a week later this big fan stop working.

The fuse on the new socket is working OK, If I remove it, the small radiator fan stop working so I know the new fuse socket is working OK.

I read somewhere that there is a fan control module. Could it be this the part that fail? Do this part control both radiator fans?? Because the small one is working ok and the engine is not getting overheated.

Were is located this Control fan Module?

BTW, I hit the back of the electric Fan engine with a metal stick and the fan beguin to work slowly and then stop..................So I am thinking is the FAN that is damage. I call the Skoda Dealer and a new one cost U$ 345.00:eek:

I also found this site that talk about this: FAN PROBLEM - POLL SYNOPSIS - uk-mkivs

Does the A/C work normally? Get really cold?

If it has lost gas then the A/C rad won't heat up enough to trigger the fan.

The AC y working normally and is not trowing really cold air eaven when put it on really cold setting. Thats why I open the hood an find the fan not working.

I think the A/C is low on gas and needs to be gassed up.

Guys, looking for info about my Radiator fans I found this VW Forum that talk a lot about a problem with VAG Radiator FANS

FAN PROBLEM - POLL SYNOPSIS - uk-mkivs

What you think guys,

If it is the sensor/controller then this is part of the fan assembly, so the whole fan needs to be replaced. The symptom in this case would be the fan comes on at high speed only.

When you are doing 30+ MPH the air from the A/C should be cold even if the fan is not working. Far more air is travelling over the A/C radiator than the fan ever could provide while stationary.

Low/no gas means little/no transfer of heat to A/C radiator and no fans. This is easy to check.

As others, I'd start by having the ac gas weighed, and topped up if needed.

Well, the problem was that the A/C Radiator FAN was damage and the Skoda Dealer intall a new one.

They gave me a discount on the new fan.

New fan + install Labor US$ 265.00
