Whilst browsing the new TG Magazine Website I came across their new verdicts.

I have to admit I am a fan of the magazine's slightly more informal, jovial, prose style in all it's articles but thought some of you here would be interested in the verdict tag lines (and full reviews) for the Octavia in all it's guises.

On the Scout: - "Brilliantly useful, brilliantly underplayed. Up yours Audi Allroad"

On the vRS: - "Police use these because they don’t look fast enough to catch a cold. That’s cheating"

and finally....

Handling

Very tidy, if a little safe for fun’s sake. The front-wheel-drive chassis is supremely well-sorted in this latest generation and there’s a distinct lack of drama when pressing on. The vRS looks after you in a way that many quick cars don’t - it’ll be faster in the end.

Interesting that they thought the handling was safe given that it was the only car in which Performance Car magasine could get the back end out in a road test against a Seat Leon Cupra and a Golf GTi ED30.

When looking to buy my '58 vRS I was offered a Golf GTi at about £4k under list. Mind you, I paid under £14k OTR for my new vRS (inc. met paint, auto wipers, mirror, lights etc , jumbo box, 18" alloys etc).

Nice to see one in a decent colour too

Must admit though the comments dont seem to reflect the score ???
